Christmas Number 0-30 Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice

Christmas Number 0-30 Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Holidays, Christmas, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Projects, Flashcards, Centers

Christmas Number Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice 0-30 I put this number game together for the last couple of weeks before winter break, mostly because I needed something that would get them practising numbers but also let them move and talk a little. The idea is really simple: they each get a card, and there’s one card in the middle — and the goal is to find the one number that both cards have in common. That’s it. No complicated rules, and they pick it up within seconds. What surprised me was how into it they got. Even the students who usually aren’t that focused during math were engaged. They were shouting out numbers, helping each other, and asking to play again. I’ve played it in pairs, small groups, even whole class with two teams — and it worked every time. The Christmas designs give it a nice seasonal feel, but it’s still clearly a math activity. The cards go from 0 to 30, and there are a few different versions you can print — I made round ones at first but ended up using the square version because it was quicker to cut. Some of my students struggled with number recognition at the start of the year, and I noticed that after a few rounds of this, they started to recognise the numbers faster. It’s a bit of sneaky learning — they just think they’re playing a game, but the repetition really helps. I usually print on regular paper, sometimes heavier paper if I want to reuse the set. It doesn’t take long to prep — I just cut the cards in the evening, put them in an envelope, and that’s it. It’s become one of my favourite December math go-tos because it keeps the class busy, learning, and having fun — without any chaos. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Grocery Game: Estimating, Adding, and Multiplying Decimals - Spring Edition

Grocery Game: Estimating, Adding, and Multiplying Decimals - Spring Edition
Holiday & Seasonal, Math, Addition and Subtraction, Decimals, Multiplication and Division, Seasons, Spring, Holidays, Easter, Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, Activities, Games

Here is a brand new edition of my popular grocery game. There are three rounds (Easter, Passover & Holi) with five food items each! It is a fun, whole class activity that you need to be able to project in your classroom on an interactive whiteboard or screen-share for distance learning. As students play along, they practice estimating to stay within a shopping budget. They have to multiply and add with decimal numbers: all helpful realistic applications. Instructions: 1) Decide on a target range. A higher range will require more challenging multiplication. If the range is tighter, it will be more difficult to win. I usually use a range such as $50-$52. 2) Tell students they must buy at least 4 of the 5 products. Students need to have a piece of paper and a pencil (or whiteboards) for calculations. 3) Choose a student to pick the first product. She needs to estimate the price for one of them, decide how many she wants to buy, and estimate how much that will cost. “I think the cheese is about $5, I want 3, so that will be around $15.” 4) Then show the price (by moving the red box with your cursor), and all students calculate the cost by hand. For example, 3 x 5.75 = 17.25. This is the start of the running total. 5) Choose another student to buy the second product. Again, have him or her estimate before calculating. Then allow all the students to calculate the cost of the second product. For example 4 x 3.19 = 12.76. 6) Now students have to switch from multiplying to adding decimals. They add the price of the second product to their running total. 17.25 + 12.76 = 30.01 7) Continue with the third, fourth, and fifth (if necessary) product. 8) Students try to spend between $50-52. It’s not always easy! Talk to the class about different strategies such as saving an inexpensive product for the end. What's Included: A 5 page PowerPoint Presentation If you like this game, try my other rounds: Winter Holidays Grocery Game Fall Holidays

ABC Game – Alphabet Match with a Soccer Twist | Elementary & ESL Similar to Dobble / Spot it! A playful matching game to support letter recognition in preschool and early elementary (Pre-K to Grade 3) ⚽🔤 This hands-on alphabet game is a great way to help young learners recognize and match letters while staying engaged and active. Inspired by the popular “Find the Twin” concept (also known as Spot It! or Dobble), this printable classroom activity turns letter learning into a fun group challenge. Each card features 6 colorful images – all created by hand and designed with younger students in mind. Every pair of cards has exactly one matching symbol, and the challenge is to find it as quickly as possible. The game helps children sharpen their visual scanning, focus, and of course, their knowledge of the alphabet. You’ll receive two complete versions of the game with 31 cards each – in both round and square formats. This gives you flexibility depending on how you want to prep and present the game. What’s included: 62 total cards (2x 31 cards) 2 formats: round and square (easy to cut) Each card with 6 hand-drawn ABC images Clear instructions for classroom use Designed for easy printing and laminating How it works in the classroom: I’ve used games like this during literacy centers, as warm-ups for phonics lessons, or simply to give students a fun break while still learning. The rules are easy to understand – even for non-readers – and the game naturally encourages turn-taking and positive interaction. Because it’s low-prep and flexible, it also works well for early finishers or small-group stations. You can even keep a laminated version in a quiet corner for students to play independently or with a buddy. Fun, focused, and full of learning – this alphabet game helps build confidence with letters in a way that feels like play. A low-prep, high-impact way to make learning the alphabet more interactive – and fun. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Valentine's Day, Holidays, Holiday & Seasonal, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities, Flashcards, Worksheets & Printables, Games

These heart alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning with a Valentine's Day theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. These Valentine's Day alphabet cards are a great activity for students to practice letter recognition. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both letter recognition of capital and lowercase letters as well as identifying beginning sounds.
