Each problem follows the same sentence frame with a student having to complete the second number to complete the sum. At the bottom of the second page, there is a space for you to score this worksheet . A timer is included before the score. In order to accurately time track, you can: -Have a stopwatch running and displayed on the board for students to write down their own time when they finish. By doing it this way, you can have an entire class of students complete their worksheets at the same time. This will only work if students are old enough to understand tracking time. A great way to implement this is to model it many times with practice pages. -Complete this worksheet in small groups, a few students at a time, with the teacher or a paraprofessional. By doing it this way, you can give students attention and write their times down on your own. Making sure you have accurate times for students will allow you to implement this same worksheet repeatedly to measure and track growth. This can be a great data tracking tool if you are looking for something to assess fact fluency for basic addition.

Practice reading simple sentences with these letter I reading strips. Students will read words that begin with the letter I using the picture clue on each strip. There are 10 total reading strips that focus on both long I words and short I words included. All sentences are in the form of "I is for ___." These letter I reading strips are suitable to preschool or kindergarten kids who are learning to identify the initial sound of the letter I. Students can sort between long and short vowel sounds, or simply read the strips to practice recognizing letter I words. These cards are perfect for introducing new vocabulary to students. What is Included: * Six Long I Word Sentences - ill, insects, instruments, inchworm, ink, iguana * Four Short I Word Sentences - ice, ice cream, icicle, island When to Use: * Literacy Center * Reading Center * Small Group Activity * Task Box Activity (using pencil boxes) Ways to Use * Place on a ring for a simple reading ring for a reading center * Cut the picture from the strip and have students match the picture to the sentence * Simply have students read the strips to practice recognizing words that begin with the target letter Skills Assessed: * Reading Simple Sentences * Beginning Sounds * Distinguishing between the long and short sounds of the letter I * Using picture clues to figure out new words These reading strips are a low prep activity. Teachers simply need to print out the strips and then cut them apart. They can be laminated if desired. They can be places in a reading or literacy center . By placing these strips on a ring or in a pencil box, students can easily take out and clean up these reading strips.
