Alphabet Flashcards Here is a colourful set of Alphabet Flashcards – sure to delight any child. As a bonus, as I know that some children are transport lovers, I have included two pictures for some letters to provide a form of transport to appeal to these children (i.e.: H for helicopter, R for rocket, L for lorry, F for fire and fire engine, A for ambulance). This set of alphabet flashcards is equally suited to a variety of needs: · The parent with a young child · The teacher in the classroom · The classroom assistant · The SEN teacher · The ESL/EFL teacher They can be used in all situations to help children learn those all-important alphabet/beginning/initial sounds and become familiar with both upper- and lower-case letter shapes. Suggested ways in which to use the Alphabet Flashcards: · Pin them on the wall in order as a display: ask the child to point to the letters either by name, by sound, or by picture (beginning sound). · Look around the house/classroom for things that begin with the same sound as the object on a given flashcard. · Choose several cards (suitable for the needs of the child you are playing with) and lay them out on the table face up: Play I spy: I spy with my little eye something beginning with ‘….’. · Bean bag toss: Lay a selection of flashcards on the floor and give the child a bean bag. Ask – can you toss the bean bag onto the picture that begins with..’..’. · Print duplicates and play snap! · Help the child to put the flashcards in alphabetical order! Format: Four flashcards print to an A4 page, formatted to fit the page on a cheap HP printer. It is advised that the flashcards be laminated to make them more durable. They will get hard wear! Many kids can name flat shapes, but it takes more time to understand the concept of 3D Shapes. In this resource, I have also included the visuals of real life examples to make the students understand the concept of solid shapes easily. This set includes flash cards that show common 3D shapes along with objects children realize they already know. Seeing the shapes connected to real things helps the idea click much faster. You may use these cards during circle time, small groups, and math centers. These cards can be used in different ways. Practice reading WH words with these digraph word wall cards. These cards make a great wall display for a phonics focused word wall as well as a reference resource within a writing center . What is in this resource? This resource includes word wall cards for the digraph WH. This set contains both CVCC, CCVC, and CCVCC words in two different formats. On each card you will find an illustration which is representing a digraph WH word that is written in large font for students to recognize and read easily. Students will be able to match the illustration with the WH word. There are two sets included in this resource, one with words on the cards in black letters and the other have the rime highlighted in red. This allows students to easily blend onset and rime to read each word. How to use this resource: This resource can be used as word wall cards. This resource can be used as puzzles by cutting the picture from the word. This resource can be used in a writing center as reference cards This resource can be used as writing cards for a sand or salt tray The cards can be used as flash cards These cards can be easily differentiated, allowing students a variety of different activities to practice reading words with digraphs. Students can use these cards as a reference when writing stories, sentences, labeling pictures, or copying in a writing center . The colorful, easy to recognize images will help students with learning unfamiliar words. Skills Assessed with these Cards: Reading words with the digraph WH Blending onset and rime These word wall cards require little prep. Teachers simply need to print out the cards and cut them out. The same cards may be used as puzzles, though for this feature, you will need to cut the cards to separate the illustrations from their word. Additionally, for long-term use, all the cards may be laminated!
