This 'ea' set of 2 phonics anchor charts is excellent for acquainting children with words in the ' ea ' spelling family, for both reading and spelling development. What is included in the pack? One brightly coloured ' ea ' phonic anchor chart which can be used as a word wall, or for teacher use One black and white phonics anchor chart, which can be coloured by pupils What do the worksheets involve? The colour ' ea ' anchor chart can be used as a word wall or as an aid to teaching the ' ea ' digraph. The black and white anchor chart can be coloured by the pupil. The act of colouring helps the family of ' ea ' words to be fixed together as a group of words in the child's memory. In addition, children can be encouraged to think of a story, using as many words on the ' ea ' anchor chart as possible. How to use the anchor charts One of the great difficulties of learning digraphs, encountered by the middle and lower thirds of the class, is remembering which digraph to use for each word. For example, is it cake, or caik? By linking words in the same family together, children can be helped to overcome this difficulty. This is how this phonics anchor chart can help. Phonics Chart: Alphabet chart A Bright, colourful, phonetically correct alphabet chart ! A colourful A4-size alphabet picture chart to help children learn to recognise the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. Each letter has a picture of an object that begins with that sound. 2 font styles are included. When children are first starting to learn letter shapes and sounds, it is helpful to have a handy reference chart that the children can use to aid recall or letter shapes and a picture cue to the sound each letter stands for. There are many ways to use these charts: Wall reference Desk reference - give one to each child; special needs children especially find them helpful. Wall reference: a wall chart Play quick games: Put a counter on the letter that says /t/, for example, and play until all letters are covered. Cut up the squares and ask the children to lay the letters in alphabetical order. Activities: Write me the sound that ...teddy... begins with: can the child write the letter straight away without looking? Does the child look for the picture of the teddy? Use to assess. Can you tell me which object begins with the sound ...../h/, for example. The child looks for 'h' and says 'house'. Let the children use their charts as they complete worksheets/write/spell. Practice reading TH words with these digraph word wall cards. These cards make a great wall display for a phonics focused word wall as well as a reference resource within a writing center . What is in this resource? This resource includes word wall cards for the digraph TH. This set contains both CVCC, CCVC, and CCVCC words in two different formats. On each card you will find an illustration which is representing a digraph TH word that is written in large font for students to recognize and read easily. Students will be able to match the illustration with the TH word. Communication Vocabulary Flashcards For Preschool, Montessori, and Kindergarten Bulletin Boards I created these communication vocabulary flashcards to help young children express their needs, feelings, and ideas in a simple and visual way. They work well especially for preschool, Montessori, and kindergarten classrooms, but they’re also helpful at home. All the picture cards inside are easy to understand and designed for children who are still developing speech, have limited language, or need extra support communicating. You can use them on bulletin boards, communication boards, and during small-group activities to encourage everyday real-life communication. I created this resource with very young children in my mind. What’s inside? This resource includes 40+ colorful picture cards with clear images and simple words.
