This pdf goes trough adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers. There are 4 pages of theory, 12 pages of practice (171 tasks) and 13 pages of answers. This is designed for 5th grade math students, but can be used also with a bit older students. The first section explains addition and subtraction with fractions. At first, we recall terms numerator and denominator and remind students that in order to add or subtract you have to have the same denominator. The second section is about addition and subtraction with mixed numbers. Here, we also get to know the concept of improper fractions. The third section is about least common denominators. Here, we also introduce the sieve of Eratosthenes with 100 numbers. Then, we practise finding prime factors for some numbers between 20 and 200. The section 4 is for practising all the concepts introduced in this resource in mixed order. There is also a table for investigating pairs of numbers, their factors, factors of LCD and finding the LCD. Most answers have also intermediate steps visible, so it's easier for students to revisit their work themselves. This material is suitable for independent work packet, but also for classroom work or homework.

This product covers the 2016 Virginia (VA) Standards of Learning (SOL) 3.7 The student will estimate and use U.S. Customary and metric units to measure a) length to the nearest 1/2 inch, inch, foot, yard, centimeter, and meter; and b) liquid volume in cups, pints, quarts, gallons, and liters. note that this will also work for the 2023 VA SOL 3.MG.1 The student will reason mathematically using standard units (U.S. Customary and metric) with appropriate tools to estimate and measure objects by length, weight/mass, and liquid volume to the nearest half or whole unit. (except this one does not cover any weight/mass measurement notes) It contains notes pages on measuring the length of an object. It also has notes on customary and metric increments, as well as customary and metric capacity. There are practice pages for each topic, with an answer key included. The notes pages come in two sizes. The first size is a full-page size. You can print them as-is, or you can print them two to a pages. This is what I do as it saves on paper and the sheets will fit in a notebook. The second size is formatted to fit on a standard composition notebook page. Additionally, there are two links included in the pdf: one which opens a digital version of the notes, and another that opens a slide show version, optimized for a projector or interactive board. In both cases, which you click the link, you will be prompted to make a copy, which you can then use with Google Slides or download and use with Keynote or PowerPoint. This product covers the 2016 Virginia (VA) Standards of Learning (SOL) 3.13: The student will identify and describe congruent and noncongruent figures. This product will also provide some extension for the 2023 VA SOL 3.MG .4 The student will identify, describe, classify, compare, combine, and subdivide polygons. It contains notes pages on the meaning of the word congruent, what qualities make two or more shapes congruent and what qualities do not. There are practice pages for each topic, with an answer key included. The notes pages come in two sizes. The first size is a full-page size. You can print them as-is. You can also print them two to a sheet (which is an option for most printers and copiers). This is what I do as it saves on paper and the sheets will fit in a spiral or composition notebook. The second size is formatted to fit on a standard composition notebook page (but it will also fit in a spiral notebook). Additionally, there are two links included in the pdf: one which opens a digital version of the notes, and another that opens a slide show version, optimized for a projector or interactive board. In both cases, which you click the link, you will be prompted to make a copy, which you can then use with Google Slides or download and use with Keynote or PowerPoint. What's included?
