Converting Units of Time Task Cards

Give your learners the gift of time . . . converting units of time measurement that is. Your 5th graders and 6th graders will enjoy this change of pace in learning as they make their way through this set of 20 task cards. Designed as a supplement to your current math curriculum, these task cards focus on measurement of time with seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years. Most of the tasks relate to conversion of time, however questions about elapsed time are also included. They’ll work to solve problems with direct questions and answers, fill-in the blanks, multiple choice, and word problems. While word problems can be a struggle for some, these will present your learners will questions relevant to real-world issues, thus engaging them in the task. To successfully complete this activity, it is not necessary for your learners to have memorized units of time. Included with the task cards is “Time Conversion Chart”available in 3 different sizes (full, half, or quarter page). Display the chart at each learning center or group of desks and give your learners the comfort of a visual aid to help guide them when necessary. You’ll find that these task cards are a great tool in helping your learners practice/review essential math and real-world skills. They’re great for indoor or outdoor educational environments and can be used at several points throughout your Measurement and Data lessons. As an added bonus, the cards are available in both a color version, as well as a black & white version. Both versions are identical. An answer recording sheet is provided and can be printed two to a page for your added ease. Not only that, but it will save you in overall number of copies and or amount of ink/toner used to print.
