About This Product

Your search is over for an engaging math activity for your grade 5 and grade 6 learners. This set of 20 task cards will give your upper elementary learners the opportunity to practice and/or review their skills in converting weight measurements. The four different styles of questions provide variety to the activity. Learners will answer direct questions, fill-in the blanks, identify the correct multiple-choice answer, and solve word problems with real-world scenarios. Another feature of this product is that learners are not required to have memorized all the units of measurement in order to practice converting them. A “Weight Conversion Chart” has been included and is available in full page, half page, or quarter page format. As learners work their way through each card, they will be tasked with converting units of weight in ounces, pounds, tons, milligrams, grams, and kilograms. They’ll write their answers on an answer recording sheet. These sheets come two to a page to reduce the number of copies you will make and/or the amount of ink/toner you will use. For your convenience, an answer key is also provided. Task cards continue to gain popularity in educational environments for their versatility and uniqueness. They offer learners the chance to strengthen their skills in a variety of locations, including indoors and outdoors. They also provide a change of pace from traditional seat work assignments. Task cards can be used in learning centers and large or small group settings. Take them to the multi-purpose room on a rainy day or display them in various locations around a designated area when the weather beckons you outside. All cards in this product are available in a color version, as well as a black & white version. Please note, both versions are identical. Below you will find details of each task card.
