Play Synopsis: Danny, his two sisters, and their friends discover a book in the attic. Upon reading it, they are whisked into various fairy tales. All this and lessons learned along the way… Come along into the Land of Oz, the forest with Snow White, the workshop of Geppetto and Pinocchio, and Neverland where kids never grow up. It was fun on the journey but the kids finally returned home with valuable lessons learned. But, Danny, please don’t start reading Volume II until another day! Many of our students love learning in a variety of ways and music is one of those! We can retain information better when we hear it through songs and visual videos. This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. This is a music video for your math students in 4th – 6th grade. The title of this song is “Your Average Joe.”This is a song and video that will have students learn about mean, median, and mode. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this math skill. The objective is for students to define mean, media, and mode and be able to correctly find each. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit . Now tape the LED pins to each side of the upper gap, making sure they don't touch so the light won't be short-circuited. Place the battery in its place in the illustration and allow it to touch one end of the tape. The LED should light up now, if it doesn't, then flip the battery over. Mariah's Mystery- A Fun SEL Cooperative Game For Kids

In this highly fun and engaging game, students will work together to decide the answers to a mystery game. They will listen to clues and read about a situation that needs to be solved. they will need to work together to solve this mystery. They will have one person who will be using a pencil to eliminate the answers that are not correct based on the different clues. There are a number of clues that groups of students will get (4 - 5 students is best) and each student will read each clue one at a time and the person who has the pencil and possible answers will help to cross out the eliminated answers based on the clues. Each student though will play a part in figuring out what clue is going to be a helpful clue to rule out an answer to either what is missing, who took it or where the item is. This is a great activity for groups to practice problem solving and cooperation, especially if you have some students who are not doing very well as cooperating as a group or some students who are not listening to other students share their perspective. Each student in this activity holds an important clue to the mystery. The directions are in the resource and this is highly engaging for the grades of third, fourth, fifth and sixth. However, for advanced grades, 2nd and even 7th grades would also benefit and find enjoyment in this activity. You know you students best! We are always looking for ways to teach our students new skills. Being able to tailor instruction to their learning styles is just one effective way to increase student engagement and set students up for success. Many of our students, from year to year, are visual and auditory learners. Most children (and even adults) can attest to their ability to better retain information that they have learned through music and song. This can be used in your social studies classroom with your elementary students.
