Looking at character development in a story is an important skill for students to learn. In this product, students will create a WANTED poster for a character in the novel Stuart Little, by E.B. White. Since it's a WANTED poster , the character chosen should be one that would be wanted for something. Depending on your students' levels, you may want to do a character analysis whole group, and discuss different things that characters have done. In this product, I have one WANTED poster with the name Snowbell on it, and one that does not have a name. That way students can choose another character if you'd like them to. Stuart Little is usually read by students in 2nd through 4th grade. Depending on your students' abilities, you could have them complete more than one WANTED poster . You could also have students complete them as a group. These would be a great activity to hang up on your classroom walls.

There are 16 blank faces with hair, 6 without hair, and 2 different sizes for the ones without hair. Students can think of a feeling to create on their card or choose a feeling card-there are 8 different feeling cards. The feelings on the cards are excited, happy, proud, mad, scared, worried, disgusted, and sad. This resource can be used for individuals, small groups, centers in a classroom, or as a whole group. This resource is suitable for pre-k, kindergarten, first, and second grades. There is no reading required. This resource is fully editable after accessing a copy of this Google slideshow. You can resize pictures or add more feeling cards or different feeling cards. There are directions included. First, read a story about feelings to your class. Then, decide which type of cards you would like to use, whether they are with hair or without. Be sure to laminate for durability. Invite students to decide on a feeling and then create that feeling with play dough. As an optional activity, you can print out the feeling cards which have the name of a feeling and an emoji on it-and students can try and recreate that particular feeling. This emergent reader includes a cover page and seven different "Z is for..." pages that all focus on the most common sound of the letter Z in the initial position of the word. This beginning sound sort for the letter Y is a great hands on activity for recognizing the most common sound of the letter Y. This is an easy and fun activity to give students who need practice with recognizing the letter Y sound from amongst other letter sounds or for those students who need extra practice distinguishing between the initial sounds in words. To complete this sorting activity , students will look at a picture next to the yelping dog to determine if the picture begins with the letter Y or does not begin with the letter Y, and then the students will place the dog on the correct yard mat.
