Prefix Super Sentence Reading Rings

Practice reading words with the prefix SUPER- with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the prefix super- in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring activity for the prefix super. There are cards each featuring a different word with the prefix super, with a sentence using the word in context and an image to illustrate that sentence. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. Independent Practice - Students can work independently at their desks to read this set of prefix cards. Morning Work - Students can read and review this reading ring for morning work as their classmates arrive to class. How to Make: Teachers will print out the pages and cut each card apart. Once cut apart, the teacher can choose to laminate the cards for durability. Then, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of the card. Get students engaged with copying and continuing patterns with these sports themed patterning cards. This set of cards words with AB, AAB, ABB, and AABB patterns. The sports theme will entice students to want to do this activity over and over! What is Included: This packet includes none copying and continuing the pattern cards with a ball theme. There are also ball cards students can use to copy and complete each pattern. How to Use: Students will choose one of the patterning cards available. They will then use the ball cards to copy the pattern on the card and then they will continue the pattern out until all the ball pieces are used. Students may also use the ball cards to create their own unique patterns. When to Use: Math Center - Place the pattern cards and ball cards in a math center for students to work alone or with a partner to copy and complete each pattern. How to Use this Resource: In this literacy activity, students will read each sentence on each card, and then they will match the sentence to the correct image. This activity will make a great literacy station for kindergartners and first graders who are learning CVC words and reading comprehension. This literacy activity allows students to receive tons of practice reading AP words in the context of sentences. This letter X beginning and ending sounds and handwriting activity includes real photographs to practice learning to recognize, write and identify the sound of the letter X. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter X posters with various letter X words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter X as well as words that end with the letter X. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter X. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that end with X from words that do not end with X. The letter X sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. These activities make great morning tub activities. Just place these activities in morning bins for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Skills Assessed: These activities assess letter recognition skills, beginning/ending sounds, handwriting, and sorting skills. Each activity in this set is low prep. Each activity just needs to be printed out, cut apart, and laminated if desired. When you laminate the writing cards, you can create a writing center activity that is reusable is you add dry erase markers. The handwriting cards and beginning sound clip cards can be turned into task box activities.

This ready-to-print set of 5 stations or math centres will supplement a middle school geometry unit about place value: including numbers from the hundred millions to the millionths. I have included lots of real-life examples such as populations of countries around the world and actual Olympic luge results that are measured to the thousandth of a second. Math stations are an excellent way to get students engaged as they move about the room and work cooperatively with their peers. Even when students are in intermediate grades, they benefit from a variety of teaching strategies including the use of stations to make math class more interactive.
