What's inside this resource
Five health crossword puzzles take students from the bones inside their bodies to the words they use for big feelings. The themes are Inside My Body, My Five Senses, Germs and Getting Well, Fire and Home Safety, and Naming My Feelings. Each puzzle has nine clues, a word bank and a "Did you know?" fact, such as how long a cold usually lasts or why a family needs an outdoor meeting spot.
Three "Health Words in Action" pages follow, with one activity for each theme and a reflection to finish. Students match body parts to their jobs, pick the sense that helps most in five situations, fix one wrong word in four health facts and sort eight actions as germ stoppers or germ spreaders. They also name a feeling and a healthy response for two problems, put four fire escape steps in order and choose one health word to remember.
