This SP fun, Find and Color worksheet for beginning blends is Splendid for acquainting children orally with initial consonant blends and helping them develop the necessary phonemic awareness in preparation for more advanced blending work, involving four phonemes. What is included in the pack? One PDF sheet for the SP blend. What do the worksheets involve? Pupils are instructed to combine the two letters on each worksheet and then look for objects that start with that consonant blend. Then, these items ought to be coloured, leaving the others uncoloured. Children can easily work on the sheets unaided once they have been instructed, although, with those children with special needs, it is strongly suggested that an adult works with the child for maximum benefit. How to use The introduction of the concept of initial blends needs to be done thoroughly. When I work with children, especially those with a special need, I first like to teach children to blend two consonant letters. Then I work on developing the children's phonemic awareness: that being the ability to hear two consonant letters blended at the beginning of a word, easily. This is difficult for some pupils and takes a lot of practice. These worksheets can assist by first encouraging students to blend the two consonant letters and then by helping them to hear the blend at the start of a word. As often as you can, practice blending the letters in each initial blend and encourage the students to follow suit. I find that modelling is key at this stage. Who are the initial blends Find and colour worksheets for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature, they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. Answer keys: The answer key is included on the sheet, in small print.

This is a Build a Skeleton Halloween Craft . You can customize the ribs of the skeleton with your student's name or use the general "normal rib" template included. This file comes as a PDF with a link to a Google Drive link which you can use to type your students name on the ribs of the skeleton as shown in pictures. You can also use the general "normal ribs" template provided. It can be split into 2-3 lessons in your science class or for Halloween Craft /Project. Step-by-step directions are provided. Everything you need to print to create this life-sized skeleton is included! Notes for Teachers Students will need some direction to get started, to get started teacher will need to explain how to glue the parts together and model a couple of pieces so students can independently complete the skeleton. The Skeleton Diagram on slide 3 can be displayed for the whole class or printed out for students to see as a reference. I printed out 3-5 copies for students to use if they needed a copy. Not all students needed it. Note there are two skeleton heads; the main difference is the mouth. Either one can be used for the skeleton, both options can be printed for students to choose from one one style can be printed for the whole class. This activity requires a lot of cutting, it is recommended to split it up in 2-3 sessions. I printed and stapled all of the pages and gave it to students as a packet. Students tore off one page from the packet at a time and cut out the bones, this helped keep all pages together, avoid students from loosing or mixing up their pages. If you are splitting this activity up in 2-3 parts, it will be helpful for students to have a folder or place to put their work in until the next lesson so parts don’t go missing. Once students start gluing, remind them to only glue where they see the gray circles with the glue stick picture. #skeletoncraft #halloweencraft #buildaskeleton

Students will create their own candy corn craft with these fun and engaging fine motor craft ideas. This craft allows students to practice building their fine motor skills as well as allowing them to create their own, unique candy corn. What is Included: This resource includes a candy corn craft template as well as 4 instructional pages for craft ideas. The instruction pages are great to include in lesson plans or in emergency sub plans for days when you will be absent. How to Use: There are a variety of ways the candy corn template can be used to create a unique candy corn craft project. Torn Paper Craft - Students will tear orange, yellow and white paper to create their candy corn. Students can simply color or paint the candy corn orange, yellow and white. Use various yellow, orange, and white craft objects to fill in each candy corn space. When to Use: Art Center - This candy corn craft makes an excellent activity for an art center. Parent Involvement Craft - Send the template home with students to complete with parents using craft supplies or other items around their home. Whole Group Craft Activity - Students can all do the craft at the same time as a teacher directed activity. One the candy corn craft is completed, the teacher may choose to display the craft for all to see. They work great on a fall or Halloween bulletin board , as a themed classroom door decoration, or to be hung out in the hallway. The candy corn template is a no-prep, single paged, craft. The teacher just needs to print the template to give to students with the desired craft materials, to complete. Once completed, the teacher or parent will have a great piece of art to show off!
