These adorable gingerbread characters are sure to inspire your kids and students this Valentines Day season. There are six different bookmarks, 2" x 6" size, each with a gingerbread person working on baking something yummy. In addition to the six (6) different bookmarks, this pack includes 4 different 5 x 7 cards, two with gingerbread characters, two with other designs. One card is white with just the words, "Love - Be My Valentine" in printed in cursive, red in color. The other card contains a pair of birds kissing inside of a red heart with a blue outline and a blue background. All cards say, "Be My Valentine." Also included is a 5 x 7 envelope template that your students can cut out and paste together to create an envelope that will fit perfectly with the 5 x 7 cards. This project can be used to encourage students to handwrite a message inside, address the envelopes. Also, simply the cutting, folding, and pasting the cards, bookmarks, and envelopes is a creative way for students to practice fine motor skills while enjoying the season as a class. Students will Practice hands-on craft skills (cutting, folding, pasting, problem solving with the challenge of properly creating an envelope from the template). Practice handwriting and spelling, proper grammar (including use of capitalization for proper nouns, at the beginning of sentence, proper use of commas and periods). Practice proper addressing of an envelope in preparation of sending in the mail, which is an important life skill. Greeting cards are not age specific. If the student can't read or write, they can draw pictures inside their card and get help from peers and teachers.

Chemistry Pennant Banner – 50 Main Group Elements to Print

Printable Pennants: 50 Main Group Elements – Holiday Chemistry Decor (Christmas Theme) This is a printable banner I made for my chemistry classroom, mostly to bring a bit of colour and a seasonal touch in December while still keeping it content-related. It includes 50 of the main group elements from the periodic table, each one on a separate pennant with the name, symbol and atomic number. I hang them up across the whiteboard or on the classroom wall, and the nice thing is that the students walk past them all the time, so they kind of absorb the information without realising it. The look of the pennants is slightly Christmas-themed, nothing too much, just enough to feel like it fits the season. I’ve done it both ways – printing the coloured version myself and just hanging it up, or printing the black-and-white version and letting students decorate a pennant each. That version worked well with a lower energy group before the holidays, and they enjoyed adding small facts or drawings connected to their element. Some made it artistic, others just coloured it in, but it definitely helped with remembering. Depending on the class, I sometimes only use the first 20 elements, especially if we haven’t covered much of the table yet. But with older students, we’ve used all 50 and even turned it into a quick quiz – like who can find the halogens in the banner, or name something everyday that contains element 13. I usually print the pennants on slightly thicker paper so they hang nicely, and if I want to use them again next year, I laminate them. String or ribbon works well for hanging, and it only takes a few minutes to put it all together. It’s a small thing, but it brightens up the room and keeps the content in view.
