Día de los Muertos Reading Comprehension Passage and Craft for 4th-7th

Día de los Muertos Reading Comprehension Passage and Craft for 4th-7th
Creative Arts, ELA, Reading, Reading Comprehension, October, Months, Holiday & Seasonal, Fall, Seasons, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, Worksheets & Printables, Crafts, Activities, Worksheets

Día de los Muertos Reading Comprehension Passage and Craft Activities for Grades 4th to 7th What’s inside? I created this resource with grades 4th to 7th in mind because I wanted something that makes cultural learning easy to understand, but still interesting for older elementary and middle-grade students. While designing it, my goal was to give students a chance to read, think, discuss, and create - all in one meaningful lesson. This resource includes: A reading comprehension passage that compares Día de los Muertos (Mexico) and Shradh (India) A small set of Día de los Muertos vocabulary words Pictures of both Día de los Muertos and Shradh ceremonies to support understanding A simple mask-making craft activity A scrapbook/collage project for team work A certificate you can award to students when they finish Resource features I wrote the passage to help students notice how both traditions honor their ancestors in different ways. The vocabulary list gives students a quick introduction to important terms before reading. Pictures of both traditions make the topic easier to discuss, especially for students who are seeing these celebrations for the first time. The mask-making activity gives students a fun way to connect with the lesson through art. The scrapbook/collage project encourages team work, creativity, and discussion. The activities and wording are age-appropriate for grades 4 - 7. Clear instructions are included so teachers, parents, and homeschoolers can use it without extra preparation. How to use this resource? Reading Comprehension: Students can read the passage and answer questions that help them compare and contrast both traditions. Group Work: You can divide the class into teams to complete the scrapbook or collage activity. Craft Time: The mask-making activity can be used during art time or as a fun cultural extension. Cultural Studies: This set works well in lessons about traditions, celebrations, family, or world cultures. Who Can Use It? For teachers it is a ready to use resource for literacy lessons, cultural studies, or creative classroom projects. Homeschoolers: Easy step by step activities that make cultural learning hands-on and enjoyable will guide the homeschoolers to use this resource efficiently. For parents this resource is a simple way to support reading skills and introduce cultural diversity at home. This resource helps students practice comprehension while also learning how different cultures remember and celebrate loved ones. It’s a complete and meaningful activity set that encourages both learning and creativity. In addition, there is a full page of 4 extra-large black and white bookmarks telling the Nativity story, for younger children to color and cut up. The 4 bookmarks each have a portion of the Biblical Nativity story so can also be used for sequencing of events activities. Included in this Super bundle of Christmas cards and bookmarks: 29 total 5 x 7 Christmas cards 27 of the cards are in full color 2 of the cards are black and white color your own 1 BONUS 5 x 7 Envelope template - all the 5 x 7 cards in the kit will fit perfectly into the template. You can pick your own color paper/cardstock to create your envelope to match the card color and style. BONUS bookmarks that are full color - you can create the bookmarks to be 4 double-sided or 8 single sided bookmarks. 4 additional bookmarks which are larger than regular 2" x 6" size, to be colored in as noted above. BONUS Gift Tags/Mini Cards - in addition, these gift tags have full color, adorable animals to decorate. They fold like a mini-book, so children can choose to use as a tag or as a mini-card. Scissor Skills Fun Cutting Practice Worksheets for Preschool & KG

Scissor Skills Fun Cutting Practice Worksheets for Preschool & KG
Montessori, Creative Arts, Back To School, Holidays, Holiday & Seasonal, Life Skills, Special Resources, Toddler, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Centers, Activities, Crafts, Worksheets & Printables, Workbooks, Coloring Pages, Worksheets

Scissor Skills Fun (Cutting Practice Worksheets for Preschool & Kindergarten) I created these cutting practice worksheets for young children who are still learning how to use scissors and need plenty of simple and easy hands-on practice. Many preschool and kindergarten students struggle with cutting at first, so I wanted to make something that feels fun and doable instead of overwhelming. This printable set includes grayscale pictures of animals, everyday objects, treats, simple shapes, and a lot more. Kids will cut along straight lines and curves while working on hand strength and eye coordination. All the pictures inside are familiar and playful, which will help to keep children interested and focused while they practice. Inside you will also see pages with bunnies, bears, lions, and raccoons, along with fun items like ice cream cones, castles, and volcanoes. According to me, a variety really helps - children are much more willing to practice when the pictures are exciting. As students cut, they naturally build scissor control, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. These skills are very important for writing, drawing, and many other classroom activities they’ll be doing later on. What’s inside? This resource includes grayscale cutting practice pages with: Animals Monkey, raccoon, lion, tiger, fox, owl, cat, dog, goat, snake, frog, duck, and fish Objects Magic wand, teddy bear, castle, flower, gem, doll, ball, gift box, and volcano Sweets & Treats Cake, cupcakes, donuts, lollipops, ice cream, and popsicles Fun Shapes An activity page to create Mr. Sun is also in there Who This Is For Preschool and kindergarten students learning scissor skills Homeschool families who want hands-on fine motor practice Special education and early intervention classrooms Occupational therapy or extra fine motor support Kids who enjoy cutting, crafting, and working with their hands Resource features: Some pictures have easy cutting lines that gradually become a little more challenging This set supports simple shape recognition cutting activity page for early learners All the pages are black and white that are easy to print and save ink No prep - just print and use It works well for centers, morning work, or independent practice It helps support hand strength and coordination It contains simple visuals that keep kids engaged without distractions Why do I like this resource? Fine motor development is a big part of early learning, and I wanted these pages to feel encouraging but not frustrating. Children can start with simple cuts and slowly work their way up. You may use these during centers, quiet work time, or when students need something calming and focused. The print and go format makes it easy to use anywhere - in the classroom, at your homeschool, during art time, or even during breaks and vacations. Benefits for Children It helps them improve scissor control and fine motor skills It helps kids strengthen hand-eye coordination It encourages focus, patience, and independence It also builds confidence with cutting and crafting This resource works well for preschool and kindergarten cutting practice , fine motor skill development, hands-on learning, and Montessori-style activities at home or in the classroom.

Cinco de Mayo Dot Painting - A Fine Motor Art Activity
Creative Arts, Art, Holidays, Holiday & Seasonal, Cinco De Mayo, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities, Crafts

Practice fine motor skills while creating a Cinco de Mayo dot art painting with these fine motor q-tip dot painting sheets. This Cinco de Mayo themed art activity is a perfect May craft for preschoolers and early elementary students to practice hand eye coordination. The following dot painting pages are included in this set: cactus, chili pepper, maraca, pinata, serape, sombrero, and taco. Each page is designed with a different Cinco de Mayo themed item for students to practice their fine motor skills and create a fun art picture to display in the classroom or in their home. Students will have fun choosing their colors to make their pictures their own unique masterpieces. When to Use these Dot Painting Pages Art Center or a Fine Motor Center - Simply place the pages inside the center with paints of various colors and cotton swabs for students to complete. Craft Activity - These dot painting pages also make a great whole class art activity where each student paints at their own desk their chosen dot art picture. Early Finishers - When students finish their work, they can complete this dot painting activity while waiting on their classmates to finish their assignments. Quiet Time Activity - Students who have trouble napping can complete one of these dot painting pages while their classmates nap. Displays - These dot painting pictures can be displayed on classroom bulletin boards , doors, or hallways. All of these dot painting pages are no prep. They just need to be printed and given to students to decorate. The teacher will simply need to provide paints of various colors and cotton swabs. An alternative to using cotton swabs and paint is to have students decorate their pictures with dots of colored glue. Older students may want to try creating their pictures this way for a more tactile way to complete this art activity.

Printable Chemistry Pennants – Christmas Classroom Decor

Printable Chemistry Pennants – Christmas Classroom Decor
STEM, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Basic Science, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Homeschool Templates, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Activities, Projects, Labs, Experiments, Classroom Decor, Door Decor, Bulletin Boards, Crafts, Centers, Banners

Printable Chemistry Pennants – Christmas Classroom Decor I made this banner because I wanted something simple to hang in my classroom during the weeks before the holidays — something that looked nice but still connected to chemistry. These are small triangle flags, each showing one element from the main group, with symbol, name, and atomic number. The design has a bit of a holiday touch but it’s not loud or silly, so it works even if you don’t go all-in on Christmas decorations. What I like about it is that I can just print it, cut it out, and hang it up, and it brings colour to the room without much effort. The students walk past it every day, and after a while they start to recognise elements just from seeing them over and over again. It’s not a big thing, but I’ve noticed that small exposures like that can really help, especially for the students who don’t memorize things easily. I printed mine on heavier paper and used some string and tape to hang it across the whiteboard. One year I laminated them so I could use them again the next time, and they held up really well. You can hang them in a line, in clusters, or just tape them to cabinets or doors — whatever fits your classroom. Sometimes I also use them as a starting point. I might ask a student to pick one element from the banner and tell me something about it, or we do a quick warm-up based on the symbols they see. But most of the time, it’s just there, and that’s enough. It makes the space feel less grey in December, and still keeps the focus on science. It’s nothing complicated — just a printable you can use when you want something useful and a little seasonal. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and welcoming learning environment. 🐶
