This activity allows students to practice counting money. It does employ the hairy money strategy for some questions. The coins are not grouped by denomination. This can be used as a review activity , a summative assessment, or a formative assessment to see which students have mastered the skill of counting money. It was made based on the Virginia SOLs, specifically SOL 3.6 but can be used with other grades and in other states. Included is a printable pdf and a link to a digital version for paperless or virtual classrooms. When you click the link, you will be prompted to create your own copy. This will open a Google Slide that you can download and use with Power Point or Keynote, or you can assign is as a Google Slide using Google Classroom, Schoology, Canvas, or whatever LMS your school system uses.
