As you introduce and review new topics with your art students, you may want to ensure that you have quality resources that will allow them to express their understanding of the concept. Art can be concrete and abstract simultaneously! Because of this, we want to assess mastery in the best ways we know how. We can do this when we present hands-on and engaging lessons and instruction to our students. This is aClass Logo Project. Itis an editable presentation that can be accessed through Microsoft or Google. It consists of 32 slides. The objective is for students to be able to understand the various elements of a logo and design a class logo. The presentation breakdown is as follows: Slides 2 – 4: Defining a Logo Slides 5 – 9: The History of Logos Slides 10 – 16: Students will work to find the hidden or special message in the famous logos to ensue. Slides 17 – 24: Golden Rules of Logo Design Slides 25 – 29: Logo Design Process Slide 30 – Student Assignment Slide 31 – Success Criteria Slide 32 – Rubric Student Assignment is as follows: --Create a logo for the class, using the Golden Rules (digitally or on paper) --Complete a reflection of the process and the included design elements --Submit final logo AND brainstorms/doodles/ideas along the way. there will need to be a coloured and black and white version. --When everyone is done, the class will vote on the new and official class logo.
