The Connecticut State Symbols PowerPoint introduces elementary students to the official state symbols of Connecticut. Students will learn about Connecticut's state flower, tree, bird, animal, fish, insect, fossil, mineral, nicknames, motto, seal, and flag. The 29-slide presentation uses engaging images and kid-friendly descriptions to teach the symbols. Teachers can use it during Connecticut history lessons or a broader U.S. states unit. It works for whole class instruction with a projector or interactive whiteboard. Students can also review the slides independently or in small groups at learning centers or for research projects on their state. The detailed content gives students background knowledge and makes a great addition to any Connecticut or early U.S. states curriculum.
