The colour 'oa ' anchor chart can be used as a word wall or as an aid to teaching the 'oa' digraph. The black and white anchor chart can be coloured by the pupil. In addition, children can be encouraged to think of a story, using as many words on the 'oa' anchor chart as possible. Children will greatly enjoy colouring the non-clip art, realistic pictures. Always encourage neat colouring, as this sets a standard for all work. Who are the phonics anchor charts for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature , they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. Who can use the phonics anchor charts? Social Studies, ELA, First Peoples (Native), Writing, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Learning about history in social studies class can sometimes be exciting, but it can sometimes be challenging because students have a hard time making the historical connections. In order to ensure these lessons stick for students, we have to provide them with interactive and engaging resources. One topic that can benefit from engaging lessons is pioneer life. This is a Pioneer Child’s Life Diary Entry for students to complete when studying about the life of pioneer children. The objective of this lesson is for students to be able to understand the life of a pioneer child and be able to write successful diary entries that are reflective of a pioneer child. This is a resource that is most appropriate for 2nd grade students and higher. It is easily implemented with a social studies class where students have been studying pioneers. It is a 1-page printable that reflects diary entries. There is a blank diary entry on the left and right side of the page, giving students space to write 2 different entries. The journal entry on the left is dated with 1789. The journal entry on the right is dated with 20__. This allows students to take into account the differences in a pioneer child’s life based on time. This resource may be best utilized independently, so you can assess the writing mastery of each student. This is a great time to place students in small group prior to writing, so they can spend time brainstorming and discussing with one another. I hope you enjoy!
