It includes a five page summary (with pictures) of Lexington and Concord, the sites of the initial fighting during the American Revolution, followed by two poems, Paul Revere’s Ride and the Concord Hymn. It can be a good compare and contrast exercise to have students read or hear one or both poems after they’ve learned about the history of “The Shot Heard Round the World” – and see what portions of the poem(s) are historically accurate and which are not. It also includes a map from the National Park Services, and several paintings depicting the fighting that fateful April day
