Special Resources, Life Skills, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Presentations, Teacher Tools

Product Description: The Venting or Gossiping? SEL PowerPoint presentation and Reflection Handout is a teaching resource tailor-made to guide students in pinpointing the essential distinction between airing out their thoughts (venting) and propagating potentially harmful talk (gossiping). It makes use of an interactive 10-slide PowerPoint deck that supports easy conversion into Google Slides, ensuring its adaptability in today's digital classrooms. This resource doesn't merely aim to inform but seeks also to initiate dialogue among learners as they embark on distinguishing venting from gossiping. The slideshow sparks off this discussion through imagery and animation that not only pique the interest but also stay etched in the students' memory longer. Detailed slide notes accompany some slides to provide additional context for teachers monumentally facilitating instruction. Included Activities: The first activity facilitates group discussion by encouraging brainstorming of differences between venting and gossiping on poster paper or your board. This exercise fosters a more profound understanding of subject matter as perspectives intermingle generating valuable insights. Activity "> In another physical activity , students are confronted with varied scenarios prompting decision-making – is it venting or gossiping? By associating either side of the room with these distinct concepts, moving across class becomes a physical expression of choice, much like stepping into real-life situations where such decisions must be made.
