Letter B: PowerPoint and Worksheets: Lesson 2
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Phonics, Kindergarten, Preschool, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Learn Initial Sounds B: Lesson 2 teaches the first letter Bb, and its related phonic sound through a PowerPoint lesson and 5 follow-up activity worksheets. All you need to teach the phonic letter B! Whether in school or at home, this series of phonic presentations can help you teach initial/beginning sounds effectively to all pupils, including those with special needs/dyslexia. This lesson is part of a synthetic, systematic phonics programme for all abilities including those suspected of being dyslexic. This lesson is in the first stage of the Reading Made Simple programme where we teach the initial, or beginning, sounds. The ability to hear the initial/beginning sound is stressed throughout, while we learn to associate each letter with its sound. Each lesson can stand alone but the activities will presume knowledge of the previous letters in the alphabet as Reading Made Simple teaches the initial sounds in alphabetical order. Special features of the Learn Initial Sounds B: Lesson 2 The PowerPoint is silent so that you can interact with your child in the best way for them: full instructions are provided at the bottom of each slide - be sure to show 'Notes'. Science of Reading Aligned Truly phonetic; no 'i' for 'ice-cream'. We focus heavily on phonemic awareness which is so necessary for a head start in phonics The child is given plenty of opportunities to learn the necessary skills - perfection is not expected in lesson 1 but the teacher will be looking for the development of the necessary skills as the child works through the alphabet. What is included in the 'Learn Initial Sounds B: Lesson 2 pack? A 23-slide PowerPoint which teaches phonemic awareness, letter/sound correspondence and letter formation along with practice games 5 follow-up worksheets How can the Learn Initial Sounds B: Lesson 2 be used? It can be used in multiple ways: As the child learns each sound, you can use the PowerPoint lesson to reinforce your own lesson It can be sent home for a child to watch with his/her parents after being taught the letter Bb in class - this will then act as revision as well as training the parent as to what is necessary to help the child. Use in class Use at home by parents or for home education Suggested Method: Introduce each letter in turn to your pupil. Have a flashcard of the letter ready. Say the sound each letter represents to the child and ask him/her to repeat it three times. Explain that some words begin with this sound. Give an example. Either use the lesson as teacher training for yourself to see how to teach your child, or use it with the child. Choose suitable activities (matching the ability of your child) from the pak of worksheets. Notes are suggestions only - use language appropriate to your pupil and be sure to interact naturally. However, do make sure that you focus on the hearing of the sounds at the beginning of words as this is much overlooked in the quest to help children learn the initial sounds as quickly as possible. Technical help: Use the PowerPoint in normal mode so that you can see the notes and use the 'Draw' tool when prompted. Some slides are interactive. More: Find matching Initial Sounds Worksheets here: https://teachsimple.com/product/beginning-sounds-phonics-worksheets Find revision/practice initial sounds slides here: https://teachsimple.com/product/learn-initial-sounds-powerpoint What is included? Learning Numbers with Vikings – Creative Pennant Banner - Bunting

Learning Numbers with Vikings – Creative Pennant Banner - Bunting
Holiday & Seasonal, Math, Early Math, Counting, Numbers, Montessori, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, History, Social Studies, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Teacher Tools, Projects, Templates, Classroom Decor, Door Decor, Posters, Bulletin Boards, Banners

Learning Numbers with Vikings – Creative Pennant Chain Creative Pennant Banner - Bunting A playful number line for early math skills with a Viking theme ⚔️🔢 This printable number pennant chain helps students in early grades (K–2 or 1–3) practice counting from 0 to 20 – all within a fun and imaginative Viking setting. Each pennant features a number, a matching number of Viking-themed illustrations, and a rustic wood-frame design that gives the entire chain a cohesive and storybook-like look. What makes this material stand out is the thoughtful visual support: for every number, students see a set of hand-drawn Viking clipart items (e.g., shields, helmets, swords), clearly corresponding to the number shown. This helps learners make the connection between numerals and quantity – an essential early math skill. What’s included: Numbers 0–20 as printable pennants (PDF) Each number illustrated with a matching number of Viking-themed images Two versions: full-color and black-and-white for coloring activities Wooden-look frames and connectors to complete the Viking design Tips for classroom use included Ideas for classroom use: You can hang the pennant chain across the classroom as a number line or let students help assemble it during a math lesson. The black-and-white version works well for individual coloring tasks, giving students ownership over their learning space. Some teachers use it in math centers, others during Viking-themed project weeks. The visual repetition supports number sense and makes abstract numbers feel more concrete. I’ve found that students who usually struggle with counting feel more confident when they can match numbers to something they can see and count. The resource is easy to print and use, and no extra materials are needed beyond scissors and string. Laminating the pennants will help them last across multiple school years. This is more than just a decoration – it’s a tool for early math learning wrapped in a bit of adventure. 📍 Best wishes, Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and welcoming learning environment. 🐶

Project Template US States for MS Word

Project Template US States for MS Word
Social Studies, Government, History, History: USA, Geography, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Templates, Teacher Tools

This is a Microsoft Word template for group/project work about the states of the United States of America. Each page contains a title, a small outline flag and a map of that state. The maps have only state borders, no cities or other things. Students can use these pages as a starting point for their project work. This file is editable, so the teacher can give students these pages as Word documents, and students can then fill in the information with their own device. Or, these pages can be printed out and students can create their posters on paper. The value of this document is to provide pictures that are hard to draw so that the students can focus on the content. For that reason, this is suitable for many grade levels. The pictures are at the bottom of the page so that students who are not so familiar with technology can more easily fill in their text. You can of course move the pictures around, if you want to. The font that is used is Seymour One, a free Google font. If you want exactly the same look as in the preview pictures, it is advisable to download the same font, but it’s not necessary. The states are in alphabetical order. The flags are of black and white outline style for easy printing and coloring.

Ever feel like your history lessons need a serious pick-me-up? After watching my teenager's eyes glaze over during one too many timeline activities, I knew I had to create something different! These Weekly History Syllabus Doodle Notes were born late one night at my kitchen table, surrounded by scattered history books and half-finished lesson plans that weren't working for either of us. As a fellow homeschool mom who's navigated the treacherous waters of teaching history to a teenager (who'd rather be doing ANYTHING else), I have poured all my real-world experience into these templates. Gone are the days of dry, boring history planning that puts both of us to sleep! Instead, I have created visual planning sheets that finally clicked for my visually-oriented teen. Now we're mapping out historical connections, documenting primary source readings, and planning research activities in a way that actually sticks! The magic happens when those historical concepts come alive through both organized planning AND creative visual elements. My daughter went from "Do we have to do history today?" to pointing out connections between historical periods on her own—I amnot kidding! These templates have completely transformed how history works in our homeschool, and I cannot wait for them to do the same for yours. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: Comprehensive weekly history planning template with visually engaging design Designated spaces for historical learning objectives, content focus, and instructor information Daily sections for documenting classwork, discussions, quizzes, and attendance Specialized reading assignment sections for historical texts and primary sources Homework planning areas with website research recommendations and writing prompts Visual note-taking spaces that connect historical concepts with creative representation Structured organization that accommodates the unique narrative nature of history instruction Look, I am not going to pretend I'm some super-organized homeschool mom with color-coded bookshelves (my laundry pile would quickly disprove that myth!). But after years of history lessons that felt like pulling teeth, these doodle notes have honestly saved our homeschool history curriculum. Sunday afternoons used to find me stressed and overwhelmed, staring at history books and wondering how to make centuries-old events relevant to my tech-obsessed teen. Now? I actually look forward to mapping out our history week! The combination of chronological organization with visual creativity means concepts stick in a way they never did before. My daughter has gone from glazed-over eyes to making connections between historical periods on her own. No joke—last week she compared political patterns from ancient Rome to something in today's news WITHOUT PROMPTING! Grab these templates today, and in a few weeks, you will be texting your homeschool friends about how your kid suddenly loves history. (And they'll demand to know your secret!) If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resources, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom Please subscribe: tidewindacademyhomeschool.com

Timelines are a great way for students to display their knowledge. These timeline templates are differentiated for a wide variety of learners kindergarten to 5th grade or ability level. They will appeal to learners of varying needs and abilities, by offering 20 templates with different combinations of boxes for dates or pictures, and lines for writing additional information. I made these timelines when my son (a 5th grader) had to make and complete one for a homework assignment. Since my son does not like to draw, I searched for a template on line. After not finding what I wanted, I made my own...and then decided to keep making more, to fit other children's needs. If you need a timeline, I hope you find these helpful!
