Homophones Grammar Practice MCQS Snapshot Title: Homophones . Genre: Instructional workbook / practice worksheets . Subject: Reading / Language Arts . Primary Topic: choosing correct homophones in sentence context . What This Teaches Best Teaches the concept of homophones directly by defining them as words with the same pronunciation but different spellings and meanings. Gives repeated practice choosing the correct spelling from sentence context, including sets such as there/their/they’re and to/too/two . Reinforces proofreading and usage accuracy with commonly confused words. Supports review and self-checking through an example sheet and answer keys. Learning Goals Students will identify homophones that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings. Students will use sentence context to choose the correct homophone. Students will distinguish commonly confused word pairs and sets in writing. Students will explain how spelling changes the meaning of a sentence. Students will improve editing accuracy with frequently confused words. Key Vocabulary From the Text homophones — words that sound alike but differ in spelling and meaning. heir — person who receives money or property later. scent — a smell. rein — a strap used to guide a horse. aisle — a passage between rows or shelves. Common Core Alignment (if applicable) CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.4.1g — correctly using frequently confused words directly matches the packet’s homophone practice. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.5.2e / L.6.2b / L.7.2b — correct spelling work is also directly supported because students must choose the correct written form in context. Homophones Overview: sent, scent, cent accept, except, eccept thru, through, threw, here, ear, hear bored, board, bord they're, their, there day's, days, daze horse, hoarse, oars FILLABLE PDF VERSION Worksheet-style pages, but with type-in answer boxes so students can complete and save their work digitally. The Miracle Worker (1962): Complete Movie Guide

The Miracle Worker (1962): Complete Movie Guide
ELA, Grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

"The Miracle Worker" is a movie based on the true story of Helen Keller and her teacher, Anne Sullivan. The film was released in 1962 and is directed by Arthur Penn. The movie begins with a young Helen Keller, who has been blind and deaf since she was a baby, causing chaos in her family's home. Her parents, Captain and Kate Keller, are at their wits' end and decide to hire a teacher to help her. Enter Anne Sullivan, a young woman who is also visually impaired but has managed to overcome her own obstacles. Anne arrives at the Keller's home and begins teaching Helen how to communicate using sign language. However, Helen is initially resistant to learning and is frustrated by Anne's attempts to teach her. Anne persists, though, and eventually breaks through to Helen, teaching her how to spell words by using her hands to feel the letters. The breakthrough moment comes when Anne takes Helen to a water pump outside and spells the word "water" into her hand as the water flows over them. Suddenly, Helen makes the connection between the word and the sensation of the water. This moment is often referred to as the "miracle." The rest of the movie follows Helen's progress as she learns to communicate more and more effectively with the help of Anne. There are many ups and downs along the way, including struggles with Helen's family and her own frustrations, but in the end, Helen is able to make great strides and become a successful student. "The Miracle Worker" is a powerful movie that shows the incredible determination of both Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan in the face of enormous challenges. Their story is a testament to the power of education and the human spirit. This video guide is for the 1962 vintage classic. This 16-question movie guide will help your students stay focused during this powerful and inspirational movie. This product also includes three reflection questions that will lead into a great class discussion about the film. This movie guide comes with an answer key. Ready to print and ready to use! Enjoy! Scientist Konrad Lorenz - Fact Sheet, Quiz & Interactive Version (PDF & H5P) Konrad Lorenz – Animal Behavior and the Roots of Ethology Fact Sheet, Quiz & Interactive Exercises (PDF + H5P) 🦢🧠 This 45-minute resource introduces students in grades 7–10 to Konrad Lorenz – a key figure in the development of modern ethology, the study of animal behavior. Many students enjoy learning about animals, but the scientific side of behavior research ist oft weniger bekannt. Lorenz is especially known for his work on imprinting in geese – observing how young animals form strong attachments during a critical period after birth. His careful observations helped shape the way we think about instinct, learning, and behavior in both animals and humans. To make this topic approachable, I’ve put together a compact, ready-to-use lesson. It includes a short informational text, a fact sheet, quiz questions with answers, and a creative partner task. The materials are available in both color and black-and-white versions, plus there’s an H5P version for digital use. What’s included: A short, student-friendly text about Konrad Lorenz and his contributions to behavioral science A fact sheet to help students organize key ideas Quiz questions (with answer key) for review or self-check A partner task where students come up with their own questions and exchange them Formats: Printable/digital PDF and interactive H5P 💻 Answer key included ✅ I’ve used this material when introducing the basics of behavior in biology – especially to discuss how scientific observation works in practice. It also fits nicely into lessons on instinct vs. learning or historical perspectives on animal research. The flexible format works well for independent study, pair work, or short projects. 🚀 Download now and bring the legacy of Konrad Lorenz into your biology lessons today! 📍 Best wishes, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know?
