Division & Long Division Practice Questions - Age 9-12
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Grade 4, 5, 6, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
A comprehensive pack of division and long division practice questions, with answers, that are designed to help kids, age 9-12, get to grips with all areas of division. The exercises include questions on: - simple division facts and mental division skills - division with and without remainders - division with a missing dividend or divisor - prime numbers - factors and HCF - dividing by 10, 100, 1000 - long division - written division problems We have devised these packs as a supplementary aid to learning maths. They have been created to help teach the problem areas that children struggle with most. Through my work as a tutor, I’ve discovered that children would have problems with particular areas in maths and would find it hard to get their head round difficult concepts. I found that most textbooks contained only a couple of pages of exercises to work through, which does not solve the problem. Therefore, I have devised some structured packs that deal with each subject in greater detail, giving the child loads of examples to work through. If they work through the packs ‘the penny will drop’ and they will grasp the concept. This is a great resource and children will love practising division alongside the kids of Mathsland High - Doubtful Darren Divides, Felicity Factor, Petite Penelope Prime and Loud Lenny Long Division. Answers included.

Divide 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers with & without remainders
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Grade 3, 4, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
These no frills sets of Worksheets provide an almost unlimited number of practice questions dividing a 2-digit whole number by a single digit whole number. All the questions are laid out in the standard long division format so pupils become familiar with this presentation for when they meet large multi-digit divisions later on. Worksheet Set 1: Division of 2 digit numbers without remainders You can choose to focus a whole page on one divisor from 2 to 9 Worksheet Set 2: Division of 2 digit numbers with remainders As with the first worksheet questions you choose a page of questions with one divisor from 2 to 9 Worksheet Set 3: Division of 2 digit numbers MIX Now there is a mix of divisors from 2 to 9 on one page. One set of questions has no remainders, the other has remainders. These worksheet sets are organized in such a way that you can plan a progression of work based upon the needs of individual (or groups of your) pupils. So for example starting with Worksheet Set 1, you can focus on a specific divisor where a pupil needs to build their strength. At the same time of course they are working on their multiplication skills. Having built their confidence across as many divisors as possible, they can then move onto Worksheet Set 2 to work on division with remainders, adding an extra step to the process, which again is good preparation for longer multi-digit division where there is a 'carry over' to think about. Worksheet Set 3 with a mix of divisors could be used in two ways. One way would be as an assessment before starting Set 1 or 2so you can see which divisors your pupils need to practice on. The other potential use is as a regular piece of homework or lesson filler to use throughout the year so the skills learnt are kept alive. How many worksheets are in each set ? Virtually unlimited . At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time so you can create as many new worksheets you need. If a pupil needs lots of practice dividing by 9 ...... just click the button and you have a new page. There will of course be a lot more variety with the worksheets with a remainder. As these worksheets need little explanation, they are ideal if you need to leave work for a replacement teacher. Answers can be found on the second page of every worksheet, automatically generated when you create a new worksheet. Note These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard.

This will allow you to create as many new worksheets you will need for practice throughout the year (classwork, homework, revision, fillers etc) or even give small groups of students in your class different sets of questions either at the same level or differentiated . There will certainly be enough to ensure fluency in this topic. As these worksheets need little explanation, they are ideal if you need to leave work for a replacement teacher. Answers can be found on the second page of every worksheet , automatically generated when you create a new worksheet . Number Formats You can choose between 3 different number formats which hopefully will cover most educators' needs around the world. - A comma separator - for the USA & UK e.g. 23,334,290 - A space separator - Canada, Australia, plus many European countries e.g. 23 334 290 - No separator - often used in scientific writings, page numbers, years & addresses e.g. 23334290 Note These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard. Finding Prime & Composite Numbers using Divisibility Rules
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Numbers, Grade 4, 5, 6, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
These resources lay a solid foundation in the realm of mathematical learning, exploring alternative methods beyond standard algorithms in order to identify prime and composite numbers. As an example instead of having to go through the standard algorithm of long division to determine whether a (large) number is divisible by e.g. 4 we actually only need to look at the last 2 digits in the number, and if they are divisible by 4 then the whole number is divisible by 4. In this resource pack student will have the opportunity to learn these shortcuts for numbers from 2 to 13. Worksheets The collection is divided into 3 separate sets: Divisibility Rules applied to Even Numbers: 4, 6, 8, and 12. Divisibility Rules applied to Odd Numbers: 7, 9, 11, and 13. Divisibility Rules applied to Prime Numbers: 2, 3, 5, and 7. For each set of worksheets, you have the flexibility to select whether your students practice these rules with three-digit numbers, four-digit numbers, or five-digit numbers. How many worksheets are in each set ? Lots and lots . At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time. This will allow you to create as many new worksheets you will need for practice throughout the year (classwork, homework, revision, fillers etc) or even give small groups of students in your class different sets of questions either at the same level or differentiated . There will certainly be enough to ensure fluency in this topic. Answers found on the second page of every worksheet are automatically generated when you create a new worksheet. Support for the Worksheets Divisibility Guide A brief overview of the worksheets and additional material Divisibility Rules This is designed for use by teachers to help explain the rules for each of the divisors from 2 to 13 with each rule accompanied by illustrative examples. Divisibility A3 Poster A3 colored Poster for display or as a memory jogger for students when needed. Note These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard.
