Opinion Writing Unit: Fidgets at School

This resource is an Opinion Writing Unit: Fidgets at School.

There are two texts included in this resource, one is in support of the topic, and one is against the topic. The students should use these texts to find evidence that supports their own opinion and use it in their essays.

After learning about both sides of the topic, students will learn the important elements of an introduction paragraph, body paragraph, and conclusion paragraph. After reviewing a model and learning about each type of paragraph, students will write their own paragraph based off the model. This will support students and allow them to see what quality writing looks like. Then they can model their writing after a strong example.
