The concept of nonfiction can be very abstract, making it difficult to teach the concept. These worksheets look at the nonfiction text features; photographs and illustrations. Within these worksheets are six activities that are designed to help students understand the concept photographs and illustrations and identifying them within the text. This Nonfiction photographs and illustrations download includes a printable worksheet with six activities, a printable checklist with a checklist for individual students and for the class and finally an answer sheet with answers to the activities. The objectives of these Nonfiction photographs and illustrations worksheets is to deepen the understanding of exactly what photographs and illustrations are and allow for students to take their own photographs and create their own illustrations. IT Words Matching Mats

Students can practice reading comprehension skills with these IT word family mats. Students can practice reading IT words in isolation and in the context of sentences. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading IT words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each IT word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these IT word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. They can be placed in a file folder utilizing hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. A magnetic activity can be created by using a baking sheet and magnets to affix the images. Students will love the hands-on nature of this activity. Are you looking for fun activities for practicing number recognition? These pixel art worksheets are perfect for getting your students to practice number identification for the number 2! Different options for how to use this resource: Cut and paste You can choose to print the colour square pages on white paper. -This is the simplest option, but it will take a lot of colour ink. Or you can choose to print the black line squares pages on colour paper. -This will use a lot less ink, but it will take a little more work to prepare. -You may struggle to find colour paper in all the colours I have used. If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . This is best if you need to make some substitutions because you are printing on colour paper and cannot find all the correct colours. 3.
