In this highly fun and engaging game, students will work together to decide the answers to a mystery game. They will listen to clues and read about a situation that needs to be solved. they will need to work together to solve this mystery. They will have one person who will be using a pencil to eliminate the answers that are not correct based on the different clues. There are a number of clues that groups of students will get (4 - 5 students is best) and each student will read each clue one at a time and the person who has the pencil and possible answers will help to cross out the eliminated answers based on the clues. Each student though will play a part in figuring out what clue is going to be a helpful clue to rule out an answer to either what is missing, who took it or where the item is. This is a great activity for groups to practice problem solving and cooperation, especially if you have some students who are not doing very well as cooperating as a group or some students who are not listening to other students share their perspective. Each student in this activity holds an important clue to the mystery. The directions are in the resource and this is highly engaging for the grades of third, fourth, fifth and sixth. However, for advanced grades, 2nd and even 7th grades would also benefit and find enjoyment in this activity. You know you students best! Here's a ready to go activity for students in 6th grade math class. They will collect numerical data and create their own dot plots and histograms to display their findings! This gives them a sense of ownership over their learning, and it is a great way to assess their skills! Student Instructions: Step 1: Think of a question with 6-8 numerical answer options. For example: ‘How many siblings do you have’ could include the answers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5+ ‘How long does it take you to get to school’ could include 0-10 mins, 10-20 mins, 20-30 mins, 30-40 mins, 40-50 mins, 50-60 mins, and 1hr+ Step 2: Survey at least 20 people. Record each answer with a tally mark in the right column. Step 3: Turn your data set into a dot plot (using the provided template). Profiles: The students deal with music, songs, and dances from different countries and record important information, impressions, and thoughts about the music they have heard in a profile: Continent Title/Artist Style Typical Instruments Particularities Star rating (1-5) The flag in the wanted poster can be painted, or the colored variant can be used. In addition, there is a blank template without predefined country names and flags. Passport These 40th countries are included: Nordamerica: United States of America, Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Puerto Rico South America: Argentina, Jamaica, Peru, Brazil Africa: Egypt, South-Africa Asia: South Korea, North Korea, India, Israel, China, Thailand, Japan, Saudi - Arabia Australia: Australia Oceania: New Zealand Europe: Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Iceland, Belgium, Scotland, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Netherlands, Switzerland, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Russia If a country has been “traveled”, a suitable passport stamp in color or black and white can be glued in.
