Long and Short E: Quiz Game Note: This download is in PowerPoint show mode to protect the rights of the image creator(s), and is thus UNEDITABLE. Playing the Game Note 1: Upon opening you will come across a password prompt. Press 'read only'. Note 2: You may need to allow ActiveX controls to use the scoreboard. The game starts will the front screen. Press the arrow in the bottom right to move onto round 1 - short E. There are ten questions in each round, click on one of these buttons to go to that question. There are a mix of options and marks available. Click on the correct answer. Incorrect answers will go dim. Correct answers will flash, all the incorrect answers will dim, small picture will appear. At this point if you are using the scoreboard, click on scores. You can edit any of the boxes and don't need to leave slideshow to edit it - the team names and scores. Simply input using keyboard. You can't save this to use another time in the future but you can use it for as long as the PPT is open. From there you can go to Round 1 or 2 by clicking on the buttons at the bottom. Upon returning to the question screen, any questions already answered will be blank (ie. no text) so you can keep track of those answered. Once you finish round 1 the button for round 2 is on the round 1 question board or alternatively from the scoreboard. About the Game This is a comprehensive, fun and interactive letter E phonics review game that has it all. With a round dedicated to both short and long E, students will practice reading phonics words while enjoying themselves at the same time. There is a real opportunity to play in teams and with 20 questions available, each with multiple options as answers, this sure is a way to get the whole class involved. Features plenty of color, excellent graphics and sounds. Long E Words: thief, money, monkey, key, turkey, Egypt, hero, candy, sunny, windy, feet, teeth. Short E Words: pet, set, hen, jet, bell, shell, egg, pen, gem, bed, neck. Helps to Build Letter recognition – Identifying letters in different fonts or contexts. Finger puppets: The Romans - Bringing the past to life - People in history This material provides you with templates for making finger puppets on the subject of the Romans. The finger puppets are a varied and interactive addition to the topic of people in history. They help pupils to discover and understand historical content in a creative and playful way. The finger puppets are suitable for science and history lessons in grades 3, grades 4, grades 5 and grades 6. The finger puppet templates are available in two versions: one in color and one in black and white. The students can design the black and white templates themselves, for example. With the colored templates , you can quickly create a finger puppet set that you can give to the students to play with. To store it in the binder, the students can make a bag. For the finger puppet show, I have also added suitable backdrops. Uses The finger puppets can be used in various ways in the classroom to internalize what they have learned and deepen their understanding or promote their creativity. For example: Role plays: The students act out scenes from the respective historical context. Dialogues: The students create dialogues between different characters of the respective era with the finger puppets. Inventing stories: The students develop their own stories with the finger puppets and develop the factual topics as a background. Presentations: The students prepare presentations about the respective epoch, using the finger puppets as a visual aid. Group work: Students can work in groups and create scenes or stories together with the finger puppets. This promotes collaboration and social learning. When to Use these Dot Painting Pages Art Center or a Fine Motor Center - Simply place the pages inside the center with paints of various colors and cotton swabs for students to complete. Craft Activity - These dot painting pages also make a great whole class art activity where each student paints at their own desk their chosen dot art picture. Early Finishers - When students finish their work, they can complete this dot painting activity while waiting on their classmates to finish their assignments. Quiet Time Activity - Students who have trouble napping can complete one of these dot painting pages while their classmates nap. Displays - These dot painting pictures can be displayed on classroom bulletin boards , doors, or hallways. All of these dot painting pages are no prep. They just need to be printed and given to students to decorate. The teacher will simply need to provide paints of various colors and cotton swabs. An alternative to using cotton swabs and paint is to have students decorate their pictures with dots of colored glue. Older students may want to try creating their pictures this way for a more tactile way to complete this art activity.

Students attempt to make the largest (or smallest) decimal number possible as digits are generated one at a time! • This lesson can work for many grades: you can play just tenths all the way to millionths! • It's a simple game, but it encourages strategy and critical thinking. • A super way to reinforce decimal concepts such as ordering and rounding. • Complete instructions and a sample round are included. How to Play: 1) Choose which place value you will practice with your class from tenths to millionths. 2) For the first round, choose if students are making the smallest or largest number they can. 3) Assign 1 side of the counter as zero and the other will indicated rolling the die. 4) Flip the coin or counter.
