Practice recognizing 2D shapes with these fun apple matching mats. Students will have fun practicing shape recognition and identifying shapes with these apple themed matching mats. What is Included: This resource includes one full color matching mat for each of the following shapes: circle, rectangle, triangle, square, star, heart, and oval. The bright and colorful nature of these 2D shape matching mats will keep students engaged while they look for the target shape. The fun apple theme makes these matching mats the perfect fall themed shape matching activity for students to practice identifying their basic 2D shapes! How to Use: These mats can be laminated and used as a write and wipe activity where students use dry erase markers to circle the correct shape on the mat. These mats can be used as matching mats where students place small manipulatives, like mini erasers, buttons, bingo chips, or pom poms, to cover the target shape. Apple Preschool Literacy Worksheets

Preschoolers will have a ton of fun with these apple themed literacy worksheets. These preschool worksheets focus on letter recognition, letter formation, and prewriting skills. What is Included: Alphabet Mazes - There are two alphabet mazes, one for capital letters and one for lowercase letters. Students will go through the maze by coloring or dotting the apples from A to Z. Apple Emergent Reader - There is one emergent reader that has some basic facts about apples. On the final page, students will record the type of apple they like best. Missing Letters - The student will write the missing letter in each letter sequence. Alphabet Cut and Paste - Students will cut out the lowercase letters and glue them next to their corresponding capital letter. Letter Sort - Students will sort letters by whether they are capital letters or lowercase letters. Prewriting Lines - There are two prewriting worksheets. In the first worksheet, students will trace straight lines in a variety of directions from left to right. On the second worksheet, students will trace a variety of lines from left to right, including curves and zigzags. Letter Tracing - There are 6 handwriting worksheets for students to practice writing capital letters and lowercase letters. Three worksheets are for capital letters and three worksheets are for lowercase letters. Apple Craft Template - There is one apple craft template page for students to color or decorate, and then cut out and glue together to create their own apple. These worksheets make great independent practice, emergency sub plans, and can even be used for homework. These apple themed worksheets are no prep. The teacher just simply needs to print out the desired pages and hand them to students to complete. This activity would work for any age of students who have learned about different computer applications, including Google Spreadsheets. Students will be given access to 1 spreadsheet. On this spreadsheet, there are 5 tabs. Students can complete all 5 tabs, you can assign which tabs you want them to complete, or you can let the students choose which ones to complete. Apple Fine Motor Activity with Connecting Cubes

Get those fingers working with these Apple Fine Motor Connecting Cube mats. Students will be challenged to use connecting cubes to build different objects associated with apples. What is included: There are four different cards for students to build apple themed objects. The cards include building an apple, an apple tree, an apple core, and an apple pie. How to Use: Students will choose one of the apple themed cards. They will use the colored connecting cube blocks and create the same object that is on the card. When to Use: Fine Motor Center - The cards and blocks can be placed in a fine motor center for students to complete together or with a partner during center time. Morning Tubs - These cards and blocks can be put inside a morning basket for students to work on while waiting for classmates to arrive to class. Quiet Time Activity - This activity works well for students who do not nap. Once classmates are asleep, students can work quietly building the shapes on these cards. The cards in this set are a low prep activity. The cards need to be printed and cut apart and, if desired, laminated for durability. Once made, the teacher just needs to add the connecting blocks to the cards and the center is all set. The cards can be stored inside a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Using a larger pencil box can allow the blocks and cards to be stored in the same container. Skills Assessed: This activity helps build up fine motor skills by putting together and taking apart the blocks. This activity determines if students can look at and copy an image using blocks. This activity determines if students can match colors by making sure they choose the correct colored blocks according to the picture.
