This leaf themed comparing numbers center is the perfect hands on kindergarten math activity for fall or autumn. Students will have two activities to practice comparing numbers within 10 by determining which numbers or groups of pictures are greater than, less than, or equal to another number or groups of pictures..

  • 16 Comparing numbers clip cards

Ways to Use the Comparing Number Mats and Cards:

  • File Folder Game -- Using hook and loop fasteners, students will use the acorn cards to determine if the numbers on the left side of the mat are greater than, less than, or equal to the number on the right.

  • Cookie Tray Game -- Using a cookie tray and magnets on the back of each acorn card, students will determine if the numbers on the left side of the mat are greater than, less than, or equal to the number on the right.

Ways to Use the Comparing Number Clip Cards

  • Task Box Activity - The clip cards and clips used to mark the correct answer can easily be stored in a task box. This allows for easy set up and clean up of this center.

  • Morning Tub or Baskets - The clip cards and clips are placed in a basket and set out in the morning for students to complete while everyone arrives to class.

Both of the center activities can be used in math centers, as independent practice, or in a small group setting. The mats focus on comparing numbers directly, while the clip cards use pictures for students to count to compare the numbers.
