Groundhog Day | Coordinate Plane Mystery Picture Activity is a no-prep, self-checking Cartesian Plane mystery picture activity. This is a great way for students to have fun while practicing. Students will practice writing ordered pairs for 20 points on the coordinate plane with this fun digital activity using Google Sheets. When I used it as an eighth grade sub plan, the children greatly enjoyed it. As they get their answers right, the mystery picture will be unveiled! This is a self-check practice where students will know when they arrive at the right answer. It is easy to implement, as students can access it through the link embedded on the PDF. This activity may be implemented after a lesson, as a closing activity, an exit ticket or even a formative assessment . Additionally, students may work individually, together in pairs, or even in groups, to arrive at the right answer and have the picture reveal. It can also be set up as a center activity or for a tutoring session with individual students. If there is no ability to set up this activity as google sheet for individual students, it can always just be printed out for students to provide the answers and then the teacher can show the mystery picture to all students. This is a great resource, easy to implement, engaging for students, self-check, and just as important, a fun way for students to practice with a fun theme!
