Alphabet Flash Cards
ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Flashcards
Learning the alphabet is important for children because it is the foundation for developing reading and writing skills. Knowing the letters and their sounds allows children to start decoding words and building their vocabulary. It also helps them to understand the structure of written language and how it relates to spoken language. Additionally, learning the alphabet can help children with memory and cognitive development. Overall, the alphabet is a fundamental aspect of literacy that children need to master in order to be successful readers and writers. Displaying the alphabet in a classroom can be useful for young students who are just learning to read and write. It helps them to visually recognise the letters and their order, and can make it easier for them to learn the alphabet song or recite the letters in order. It also serves as a reference for students who are working on spelling or writing tasks. These alphabet flash cards show capital and lower case letters with a corresponding picture for that sound. These could be used as flash cards for a teaching aid during a phonics lesson or as a classroom display. Included in the resource are 13 PDf pages with 2 flash cards per page Clipart images courtesy of Kari Bolt Clip Art

March Write the Room / Word Wall Cards
Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, St. Patrick's Day, Grade 1, Word Walls, Classroom Decor
One of my student's favorite centers to do for word work is always the Write the Room center . I give a small group of 3-5 students a clip board and the "word hunt" paper. They walk around the room with their board, paper, and a pencil and try to find all 20 words that I put scattered around the classroom. They always feel such a sense of pride when they find all 20 words! This set of words is themed for the month of March. There are word cards for St. Patrick's Day, the weather, and fun activities associated with March. I like to print the cards in color and laminate them for durability (it also keeps them ready to use for the next year). I hope your kiddos enjoy this center as much as my own students do! You can also use these cards on your word wall for your students to reference when doing writing activities. There are lots of times during the month of March that my students ask me how to spell certain words and (now with these cards) I just tell them to go to the word wall to find it! When using them for the word wall I put magnetic tab on the back of each laminated card so students can easily find, borrow, and put back my word wall words (that are on a magnetized white board surface).

Spanish: Dog Breeds Coloring Domino – Fun and Educational Game - Perro
ELA, Language Development, ESL, Science, Basic Science, Life Sciences, Animals, STEM, Spanish, Foreign Languages, Grade 6, Projects, Activities, Classroom Decor, Drawing Templates & Outlines, Worksheets & Printables, Coloring Pages, Worksheets, Word Walls, Games
In Spanish language: Dog Breeds Domino – A Calm Coloring & Matching Game for Elementary Students This printable domino game is a quiet and creative way for students to explore different dog breeds while practicing matching skills and early reading. The cards are all black and white, so students can color them themselves – something my third graders always look forward to. It gives them a sense of ownership over the material and creates a nice break from more structured tasks. The idea is simple: each domino shows either a dog breed name or a drawing, and students have to find the correct pairs. The illustrations are clear and recognizable, even without color, so they work well for younger learners or students still developing their vocabulary. The breed names are printed in an easy-to-read font, which helps build confidence in early readers. I’ve used this activity in a few different contexts: – as a quiet task for early finishers – in small group centers – during indoor recess on rainy days – or as part of a broader unit on animals and pets It also opens up room for short, low-pressure conversations – for example, “Which one do you think is the fastest?” or “Would you want a dog like that at home?” If you work with a therapy or school dog, like I do, it’s a great way to bring that connection into the classroom without needing a full lesson plan. The file includes 20 domino cards that you can print and cut out. I recommend using heavier paper or laminating the cards if you plan to reuse them. Depending on the group, you can let students color all the cards first or wait until they’ve completed a match. This is one of those activities that feels more like a calm puzzle than a “game” – which is exactly what some students need in a busy school day. 💛 Warmest wishes, Heike from Lernfitness & Happy Joe 🐶✨ Did You Know? I teach with my certified therapy dog Happy Joe, and together we focus on creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Dog Breeds Coloring Domino – Fun and Educational Game

Dog Breeds Domino – A Calm Coloring & Matching Game for Elementary Students This printable domino game is a quiet and creative way for students to explore different dog breeds while practicing matching skills and early reading.
