Movie Worksheet Packet to use with ANY Movie: Quick, Easy, Sub Plans!

Movie Worksheet Packet to use with ANY Movie: Quick, Easy, Sub Plans!
, Grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

The is a 4-page packet for students to complete while watching ANY MOVIE. This is a great lesson for EMERGENCY sub plans that will still keep kids engaged and learning. Students quickly zone out if they watch without interacting with the movie. This packet will keep them focused and engaged even if the sub has no previous knowledge in your subject. The movie worksheets require students to respond to the movie every 10 minutes with a summary, character analysis, or questions such as... -What events happened in this section? Have you experienced anything like that? -Do you agree/disagree with the message of this section? -What can you learn from this section and how can you apply it to your life? -A summary of the section -What you liked the best/worst in that section -What characters were in this section? Are you like them in any way? There are 6 different question prompts for students to use to guide their answers. This is a great way to differentiate by expecting students to answer different questions or to utilize vocabulary words in the responses. The final page of the packet is an open area for students to doodle and fill with words and pictures about the theme of the video. This is a simple resource that you can have on hand for any emergency and know that students can still be challenged even when you aren't there to guide them. Here are some great religious movie ideas which you can find in Amazon: Bible Miniseries Therese The Nativity Story

When Things Go Wrong Worksheet

When Things Go Wrong Worksheet
Special Resources, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Special Education Needs (SEN), Not Grade Specific, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

This a worksheet for children to reflect on a time in their life when things went wrong or did not go the way they had hoped. Children can think about how it made them feel, what it made them think and in turn how these feelings and thoughts came out in their actions. This can also lead to further discussion about whether their actions were appropriate and how they may do things differently in the future. Reflecting on times when things went wrong can be helpful for a child in several ways: * Learning from mistakes: By reflecting on past experiences, children can identify what went wrong and understand the reasons behind it. This reflection helps them learn from their mistakes and make better decisions in the future. * Building resilience: Reflecting on challenges and setbacks can teach children that it's normal to encounter difficulties in life. They can develop resilience by recognising that they have the strength to overcome obstacles and bounce back from failures. * Developing problem-solving skills: Reflecting on past failures allows children to analyse different aspects of a situation and brainstorm alternative solutions. This process helps them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enabling them to approach future challenges more effectively. * Building self-awareness: Reflecting on their own experiences helps children gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their strengths, weaknesses, and emotions. This self-awareness can lead to improved self-confidence and self-esteem. * Fostering growth mindset: Reflecting on failures can promote a growth mindset, where children understand that intelligence and abilities can be developed through effort and learning. They learn to see setbacks as opportunities for growth and improvement rather than personal shortcomings. It is important to guide and support children during this reflection process, emphasising the lessons learned and encouraging a positive outlook. This worksheet can be linked with ideas of cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can be helpful for children in many ways. It can help children to understand and cope with their emotions in a more constructive way. It can also be used to teach children healthy coping strategies for managing their anger. Additionally, it can help children to develop better self-awareness and self-management skills. Included is a PDF printable worksheet with a version for both girls and boys

Long Vowels: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple

Long Vowels: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Kindergarten, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Reading Made Simple — Free Long Vowels Phonics Workbook These little workbooks have been a quiet favourite with families using Reading Made Simple for some time now. Each one focuses on a single sound and prints on just one sheet of A4 paper — double-sided, folded in half to make a neat A5 booklet that children can hold and work through at their own pace. They are entirely optional. The phonics programme works perfectly well without them, but many parents and teachers find them a useful companion — either as structured practice or simply as a source of ideas to dip into when needed. Tested by real children: One 5-year-old user is quoted as having said, 'The worksheet is the best bit of my lessons!' Other parents have noted that their child likes the worksheet because 'they think it is easy'. When learning is broken down into small, achievable steps, with no curve balls to throw them off track, every child can say, 'I can read!' When I hear these reviews, I know that I have succeeded in my aim to write a phonics curriculum that can help children of all abilities learn to read and spell. These little workbooks are just one small part of what there is to offer. Please do check out the website for more information. Each workbook offers a gentle mix of activities built around the target sound. Children will read short passages that practise the new sound alongside words from sounds already taught, track and identify the sound within words to support both reading and spelling, practise spelling and sentence writing, and work through simple editing exercises where they spot and correct mistakes. These small editing tasks are particularly worthwhile — they encourage children to look carefully at words rather than guessing from context. The workbooks are particularly well-suited to younger children just beginning their phonics journey, and to older children with special educational needs who are still building their foundational reading and spelling skills. That said, they will not suit every child. Some will find them too long, others too straightforward. Use your own judgement — pick the activities that fit, leave the rest, or set them aside entirely. There is no obligation and no right or wrong way to use them. To print: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge. Fold in half to create your A5 booklet. The answer page at the back is optional. One sheet of paper. One sound. Everything a child needs to practise, consolidate and grow in confidence.
