Kindergarten Health: Unit 5

For Kindergarten Health there are seven standards that need to be taught to achieve healthy habits!

Unit 1 Personal Health

Unit 2 Growth and Development

Unit 3 Nutrition and Physical Activity

Unit 4 Substance Use and Abuse

Unit 5 Injury/ Violence Prevention Control and Safety

Unit 6 Prevention/Control of Disease

Unit 7 Environmental Consumer Health

These units can be taught out of order. They are only numbered for your convenience.

Through using this Kindergarten Health: Unit 5, students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits.

Included in this unit:

• Students will learn what to do if they are lost by learning their phone numbers of a parent or guardian.

• Students will also learn their address and full name, and guardian's names if lost.

• Students will complete a cut and paste activity for when to call 911 and when not to call 911.

• Students will learn about bike safety and the signals used when riding a bike.

• Playground safety is also taught in this unit.

• Learning about stranger danger is outlined in this unit with a cut and paste activity.

• Lastly, students will learn about bullying and what it means to be bullied and what to do.
