About This Product
Looking for an interactive behavior management tool? Coping strategies are our tools to combat all the uncomfortable feelings we go through in life, and we have the chance to teach these coping strategies in the classroom! Turtles have often been described as the most resilient animal given all that they face from the moment they are born. It’s no wonder we always see turtles in curriculums and story books having to do with SEL (Tucker the Turtle, Twiggle the Turtle) Turtles use their shell to protect themselves, both physically and emotionally. I created this Turtle craft to help students choose coping skills that will help them feel better when upset. There are 8 different strategies to pick from, and the numbers can also be used as a breathing exercise! Have your children point to each number for 8 slow and deep breaths before picking a number to lift to reveal their coping skills! The craft is easy to put together, print, cut and glue. You can also laminate and use a spinner to make it even more interactive! The download also includes a poster to hang in a Calm Corner or a Bulletin Board and serves as a reminder of the coping skills available.
Included Coping Strategies:
- Blow Bubbles
- Dance
- Yoga
- Color
- Play with Blocks
- Drink Water
- Count to 10
- Take a Break
- Fidget Toy
