Circulatory System – Lab Station Activity

This fully editable Lab Station Activity on the Circulatory System is meant to get your kids out of their seats and engaged in the content. Each station not only offers a unique opportunity to test your students knowledge (offer an opinion, answer questions based on a video or reading, draw, etc.), but also provides a fantastic learning opportunity where your kids are learning through assessment. Each station comes with a description card while some also contain more detailed instructions, a reading, questions to answer, etc. Students are equipped with a recording sheet (passport) to write their answers. There is almost no prep for you. Simply print the cards, lay them out around the room and you're all set. An answer key is also provided where applicable. These station cards are meant to be used as a lab activity but can also be utilized in a review task before a test or a quiz. Used either way, your students will love it! I know mine do and I'm telling you from first-hand experience as I've used this activity in my own class, This lab activity covers: - Circulatory System - Circulatory System Disorders - Prevention of Cardiac Disorders ---------------------------------------------- Bonus Activities: To ensure your students don't have any downtime between stations, your lab also includes a 10-word word scramble and word search, both with an answer key. You can use them as part of their mark, as a bonus so it's not mandatory, etc. However you choose to use it, it will ensure that your students are always busy and never idle. Note: For stronger classes I give the word scramble and for weaker ones, the word search. ---------------------------------------------- How do the Lab Stations work? Each station is specially designed to be a unique complement to the material while at the same time, provide a valuable learning experience. Below is an overview of how each station works. In your activity , each will be tailored to the specific content. Station 1: Get Hands-On – using their creative skills, students are required to draw or build. Station 2: Research – using a classroom computer or their own device, students must research a specific question/issue surrounding the topic. Station 3: Explain yourself – students write down an opinion to a question in paragraph form. Station 4: Rest Station - students can use this time to catch up on work they didn't have time to complete at a previous station or prepare themselves for an upcoming one. Station 5 - Applicability reading – students read a short passage from an article, website, etc. which directly connects the classroom content to a real life application. Station 6: Test your knowledge – students answer 5 multiple choice questions then provide a written explanation for how/why they came to their conclusions. Station 7: Learn from the expert – using a classroom computer or their own device, students must watch a short video clip and answer the associated questions. They may stop, rewind and restart as often as they like during the time frame. Station 8 - Rest Station. Station 9: Become the question master – Students must create 2 multiple-choice questions, 2 true/false questions and 1 short answer question. This product is great for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th graders. Students practice the skill of alphabetical order. This is a skill that we often think of with just primary students. But I've found a lot of 3rd graders struggle with this concept. Students practice writing words in ABC order. The pages are organized into 11 different themes to be used throughout the school year. These can be used as practice or for a quick assessment. The themes are: Back to School, Colors, Sports, Vehicles, Holidays, Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter, Christmas, and Summer. Each theme has two different options to complete depending on your students' levels. You could choose to just complete one of these options. OR, you could give one option to some students and the other option to others. OR, you could give the option where the words are separated into 4 categories first. You could complete this whole group, or students could complete it in small groups. At a later time, you could then give the option of all of the words together as an assessment!

Do you have students who struggle to understand, manage and or control their emotions? Being able to identify one's own EMOTIONS is the first step in EMOTIONAL REGULATION. Identifying emotions helps one to understand and control their behavior. Some children need explicit teaching to successfully learn how to do this. These 4 activities are great for children who need to practice identifying their emotions. They will do so by labeling them; increasing and expanding their emotional vocabulary, identifying the various FACIAL EXPRESSIONS/BODY LANGUAGE associated with many different emotions, and by thinking about scenarios that may make them feel various emotions. These activities can be used with an individual student or in small groups for a great interactive experience. In small groups, children benefit from seeing and hearing about how other children may feel in various situations.

Girl version- The educational activity involves sorting clothing items based on their features, functions, and classes. The learners will be presented with a collection of various clothing items such as shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, and so on. The objective of the activity is to categorize these items based on their unique features, functions, and classes. To begin the activity , the instructor will introduce the concept of feature, function, and class, providing examples and a brief description of each. The learners will then be given a set of clothing items and asked to sort them into categories based on these three criteria. For example, the learners could sort clothing items based on the feature of long sleeves, the function of keeping warm, or the class of pants. They could also be asked to sort clothes based on a combination of these criteria, such as sorting long sleeve shirts that are also suitable for cold weather. The instructor could also provide feedback and additional information about the clothing items and their features, functions, and classes. By completing this activity , the learners will improve their critical thinking and analytical skills as they learn to categorize and classify objects based on different criteria. They will also develop their knowledge and understanding of clothing items and their unique features, functions, and classes.
