Students can celebrate the 100th Day of School by playing this roll to 100 game. Students will have fun and stay engaged while playing this single player or two player game. How to Play: * Single Player Game -- Students will use 1 die to roll. They will color in the number of spaces they rolled and keep going until they reach 100. They will have an opportunity to predict how many rolls it will take and then record the actual number of rolls they made. Students may need different colored crayons or markers to make it easier to count the number of rolls. * Two Player Game - Students can race to see who reaches 100 first by rolling their die and coloring in the appropriate spaces. Students may also take turns rolling on one game board, each coloring their rolls a different color, seeing who covered the most spaces. When to Use: * Independent Game * Partner Activity * Math Center * Morning Work * 100th Day Celebration station or activity Skills Assessed: * Counting to 100 * Recognizing the number rolled on a die * Making predictions * Testing predictions This 100th day roll to 100 game is a now prep activity. Teachers simply need to print the pages and give it to students. Students simply need to be provided a die and something to color with. To make this a reusable activity, the teacher may want to laminate the game mats and give students dry erase markers to record their rolls. An extension activity would be for the teacher assist students in graphing the number of rolls it took for each of the students to reach 100. Phonics Strategies for 3rd and 4th Graders

Phonics Strategies is a program in which phonics concepts are absorbed more quickly, with less effort, that can be transferred successfully to unknown words in the student's education and recreational reading. The phonics program is designed for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Vocabulary emphasizes two and three-syllable words. Part 1 focuses on Vc, Vcc, and R-controlled vowel phonograms. Phonics Strategies begins with more common prefixes and suffixes to build a solid foundation and progresses towards more difficult/less common Vccc/Vcccc phonograms and 4-letter R-controlled phonograms, along with harder prefixes and suffixes. Part 2 of this series focuses on Vvcc chunks, Vce chunks and diphthong vowels; plus advanced prefixes and suffixes, and adding suffixes to words ending in Silent E. Phonics Strategies includes reading pages, listening and identifying skills, worksheets, hands-on activities, phonics poems, phonics games and even letters to parents for each unit! Additionally, there is a phonics pretest, and three phonics post tests. Answer sheets are included. For teachers who use the pretest and wish to zero in on specific concepts, an index is provided to help you find supporting reading and worksheets. Pronunciation clues and spelling rules with examples are also included in every unit. Implementation of this Phonics Strategies for 3rd & 4th Graders should be a success with the Tips and Suggestions section included. Goals are included on the top of each worksheet. Reviewing the goals can assist the mentor in understanding the purpose of the worksheet. It is also helps the parents to understand the emphasis of each page if worksheets are sent home to reinforce concepts reviewed during a class or tutoring session. Sharing the goals with older students can give them incentive to focus.
