Need an activity for practicing number bonds that will be fun and engaging? These no-prep, self checking cut and paste math puzzles are great for helping students to focus on addition as they do number bonds for number 29. Preparation: Just print and go! There are 2 pages for each number – The main worksheet and a page with puzzle pieces that need to be cut out and pasted on the worksheet. Each student will need a copy of both pages. There is also a “Back of Puzzle Pieces” page. This needs to be printed on the reverse side of all puzzle pieces pages. There are 2 printing options – colour or black and white You can also mix and match the colour and black and white pages. For example, you could print only the puzzle pieces in colour and the worksheet in black and white if you wish. These worksheets are great for: Homework Centers Extra work for early finishers Extra practice for students struggling with Number Sense How Students Use These Worksheets: Students cut out the puzzle pieces and place the pieces with the pictures facing down, so that the numbers on the back are visible. Stuart Little Activity Compare Characters

This product has students comparing characters in the novel Stuart Little, by E. B. White. In this activity, students are given Venn Diagrams. A Venn Diagram is a great visual graphic organizer for students. It allows them to compare and contrast two characters from the novel. The worksheets have lines in the circles to help the students write clearly, as well as fill up the space in the circles. There's enough room for students to write the similarities in the middle, and the differences on the outside. The worksheets already list the names of the characters being compared. They are George/Stuart, Stuart/Snowbell, Stuart/Harriet, and Margalo/Snowbell. This novel is usually read by 2nd through 4th graders. You could have these be filled out throughout the reading, or you could have it be an activity after finishing the book. Students could complete these on their own, or you could have them work in small groups. You can encourage your students to not only write a single word in each space, but rather a phrase. For example, for Stuart and Harriet, instead of just writing 'small' in the center section, they could write 'both are the same size.'

What is Included: One gameboard in color One gameboard in black and white What do you need to play: One of the gameboards A die Something to mark the inner spaces with A player piece to move around the edge of the board This game can be a single player game or a two player game. To play, each student will need one gameboard, one die, 20 objects to mark the inner part of the game board, and a game piece for each student playing. First, a student will roll the die and move his game piece around the outside of the gameboard. The student will then cover the corresponding picture in the middle of the gameboard. This is a Let’s Start Reading Volume 2: Fun Activities Packet. This is a 12-page packet filled with a variety of activities for students to enjoy. On the first 3 pages, students will read each sentence then, circle the correct item. -There are 3 boxes on each page. -Within each box, there is a sentence and two pictures to choose from at the end. The sentence frames are: I have a ball. I have a hat. I have a doll. I have a bike. I have a cup. I have a pen. I have a train. I have a van. I have a book. On the next 3 pages, students will write in the correct words to complete the sentence. it will be a fill in the blank for the students. It will follow the same sentence frame: “I have a boat.” Students will get to practice writing these same words. On the next 3 pages, students will read each sentence and then draw a line to the correct item. The correct item will be the correct picture of the object they just read. As a final animal review, students will trace each word. You can print and laminate these pages so they can be used over and over again. These pages can be used in small group with the teacher, or they can be used during center times amongst student groups.

Beginning Sound and Ending Sound Matching Game

Preschool and kindergarten students will have fun practicing phonological awareness skills by identifying the beginning sounds and ending sounds in words with these phonics matching cards. What is Included: In this phonics card set, there are 24 total cards, available in both color and black and white. Each set of cards makes 12 pairs of words with the same beginning sounds and ending sounds. Ways to Use: Concentration or Memory Game : Students will start the game by having all of the cards face down. Each student will take turns turning over 2 cards. If both the beginning sound and ending sound of both cards match, then the student keeps the pair. If they do not, then the student puts them back face down. The student with the most correct pairs wins. Find a Partner: The teacher starts by giving each student one of the picture cards. The students then look around at the cards the other students have to see if it matches their beginning sound and their ending sound. Once they find their match, then they found their partner. Students can simply work together to match the cards with the same beginning sound and ending sound. Pairs Included: bag - bug, bat - boat, crab - cab, dog - dig, fan - fin, hat - hut, log - leg, mop - map, night - net, rug - rag, sock - snake, vine - van Skills Assessed: This activity assesses students' abilities at identifying and matching beginning and ending sounds in single syllable words. This activity is a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. The cards just need to be printed out and cut apart. They can be laminated for durability if the teacher desires. The cards can be stores in a task box or pencil box for easy set up, clean up and storage options.
