Safe Hands and Feet – Social Story for Kids
Special Resources, Social Skills, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
This is a Social Story for Safe Hands and Feet. Social stories are ideal for young learners who need more support with interacting in social settings as well as students with developmental delays. Exposing any of your young learners to social stories will benefit them as most students can benefit from developing stronger social skills. Students who enter Kindergarten but did not attend any sort of preschool may especially benefit from social stories. These can be implemented at the start of the school year when you begin to discuss classroom procedures and expectations. This is also ideal any time of the year. Social stories are impactful in school settings, home settings and any other childcare settings. The words are paired up with images that will help students identify certain emotions and how to best respond in certain situations. Some examples of the stories included are: I need to remember to keep my hands and feet to myself. This will make my friends happy and want to play with me because they feel safe. My teachers and parents will also be happy when I have safe hands and feet. When I get angry or I think someone is being mean to me I need to STOP and think is this a good choice or a bad choice? I can sit in a quiet place until I can calm down. Sometimes I have to wait for things that I want. Sometimes I have to do things I do not want to do. Sometimes I feel angry when something happens that I don’t like.

Special Resources, Resources for Teachers, Classroom Management, Not Grade Specific, Templates, Teacher Tools
Introduction: Hey there, fellow teacher! As an online tutor, you’re stepping out as a niche teacher who is also a business owner. This means you’ll need to provide a sharp value proposition for your clients— this would be your students and their families! Added value is the name of the game when you’re trying to stand out among other teachers they may be considering. One way to bring value is personalized feedback after teach class. However, this can be a daunting task. Read on! Objective: This 1 page printable note sheet can (and should) be copied for each class. By keeping organized records of student feedback, you’ll be able to give justifications for instructional decisions you made, as well as showing student progress along the way. In addition to the note sheet, this product includes two bonus pages of feedback clips to use with students. Think of these as templates to use for your own personalized feedback. Use them verbatim and add in the relevant information, or simply use them for inspiration as you write your own feedback. The objective is to alleviate the stress and workload of giving feedback (potentially to multiple students) after each class. Suggested use: Before class, print and store a packet of feedback sheets for each tutoring student. Ideally, this would be kept in a binder for easy access. During class, keep the sheet next to you and make notes in the open sections according to the observation you’ve made. After class, collect the note sheets for each student. choose the feedback clip you’d like to use from the bonus pages included in this product, or write your own. Insert the feedback from that day’s class, and send it to families or directly to students via email or messaging service. I created this product after over 10 years of tutoring online and in person. There are so many challenges new tutors face including price negotiation battles, cancellation abuses, and feeling overwhelmed by feedback. This note sheet is meant to alleviate stress as you add value to your tutoring business.
