In this SEL Boom Deck, students will learn about flower (healthy), weed (bothersome) and cactus (unhealthy) friendship behaviors. It is important for students to learn some of the behaviors that are bothersome and frustrating and to learn that they do need to address these sooner rather than later. Just like a weed ignored or not wanting to be dealt with, it can get worse and impact the friendship in a negative way. Some examples of flower (healthy) behaviors are; letting your friends have other friends, being there to help, standing up for them (being an upstander), and many more. Some of the weed (bothersome) examples are; bragging, copying a friend, not paying a friend back for borrowing money, and more. Some examples of cactus (unhealthy) behaviors are; being mad if something good happens to a friend, putting a friend down, gossiping, not letting a friend join their other friends, and many more. There are 24 task playing cards and 5 instructional cards so this can be played as a whole classroom lesson, a small group lesson, with partners or assigned to individuals to do as homework. There is a handout that matches the concepts for students to fill out to remember the different friendship behaviors and a question about what they can do if there friend is exhibiting either a weed or cactus type friendship behavior. This is a Boom Deck that is great for 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and sixth grade. If there are strong readers or the classroom teacher or school counselor can read each slide, this could be something 2nd grader also do. You know your students best and can judge whether the examples are relevant to your students. If you want to give students extra practice with place value, I have just the resource for you. What You Get: This is aRounding to the Nearest 10 Worksheetthat was designed for 2nd grade students who are working on or have mastered this skill. It also works well as a review for students. It is a 2-page printable. Each page has a combination of 2-digit and 3-digit numbers. This provides an increase in complexity and differentiation for students. How To Implement This Resource: You can print off enough copies of this worksheet for each student to have. You may also choose to print only a few copies and laminate those. If you choose to laminate them, students can use dry erase markers to write answers. This is a great way to turn this into a math center or small group activity. Students will begin with practice for rounding to the nearest 10 and will move to rounding to the nearest 10 with 3-digit numbers. This is great for an independent assignment or homework. It also works well as a math quiz or assessment that could be scored for a grade. If you choose to have students complete it independently, allowing them to work with a partner or in small groups is also a great idea. An answer key is included. I hope you enjoy! A set of 32 Fairy Tale picture books read-alouds to use during your Daily 5 listen to reading station, to tape on matching books, or to send home for extra student resources. All codes are run through a safe filter called video.link so that students can only see the intended read-aloud on YouTube. They will not be able to search through YouTube or see anything else on YouTub. These are also great to use when students finish their work early. This set includes Fairy Tales and Fractured Fairy Tales that include QR codes that can be used with iPads, iPods, Smartphones, Android devices, or any tablet that a QR scanner can be downloaded on. A Fairy Tale anchor chart is also included. These were designed to use with a Fairy Tale unit. Great to use to compare and contrast Fairy Tales. Enjoy:) Please make sure that if your codes are not working at school you check with your IT person to make sure that Youtube is not blocked at your school. Sometimes Youtube videos are taken down and the links stop working. If this happens please let me know and I will fix them and re-submit a new copy so that you can re-download this product for no charge. Directions: Print on card stock and laminate for a center activity or cut and tape on to the matching book. Make sure that you have a QR Code reader that takes you directly to the site. (I like QR reader for iPad or Scan- both free in the App Store or Google Play store). Open your QR scanner and hover over the code. The reading will begin. All YouTube videos are run through a safe filter called video.link . This site only allows your students to see the book. They are not able to click on ads, links, or search YouTube.

This is an engaging math project that lets students apply math skills to a realistic situation: opening their own store! Grades to Use With: This project is perfect to use with your middle grades students in grades 5-8. It could also be a great addition to a high school life skills class studying finance, business, or careers. How to Use: Each of your students has won $2,000,000 in the lottery, and they are going to use it to open their very own store! They create a budget for a new business venture by considering the costs to rent a commercial storefront in your area, pay employees, and buy all of the supplies and stock they will need. They can do research on the internet to find out the prices of rental properties and the supplies they will need. They can do decimal calculations by hand or with a calculator. This will include adding decimals and multiplying decimals. Extension: Students who finish early can create an advertisement to attract customers to their new store. You could even have a day where each student presents their unique store idea to the class. What's Included: A total of 5 pages: Title Page and 4 page PDF assignment Standards: CCSS5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. CCSS7.NS.A.3 Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving the four operations with rational numbers.
