Trace and Breathe with Flowers Students can take a mindful moment to breathe, relax, and trace the parts of the flower picture with their fingertips. This coloring sheet teaches social emotional learning (SEL) skills that help students emotionally self-regulate. When feeling upset or overly excited, students can use the trace and breathe technique to calm down. Teachers can print out pictures based on student interest. Use it individually when a student needs to self-soothe or as a whole class reset after high energy activities. What is in this resource? This resource includes word wall cards for the AG word family. This set contains both CVC and CCVC words in two different formats. On each card you will find an illustration which is representing an AG word that is written in large font for students to recognize and read easily. Students will be able to match the illustration with the AG word. There are two sets included in this resources, one with words on the cards in black letters and the other have the rime highlighted in red. This allows students to easily blend onset and rime to read each word. How to use this resource: This resource can be used as word wall cards. This resource can be used as puzzles by cutting the picture from the word. Writing with suspense is an essential skill for any writer, as it can keep readers engaged and on the edge of their seats. However, teaching students how to incorporate suspense in their writing can be challenging for teachers. Fortunately, Writing with Suspense is an interactive slideshow with 14 slides that provides a step-by-step lesson plan, with objectives and learning targets aligned to the Common Core Standards, that can be used to teach 6th-9th grade students the techniques authors use to create suspense in their writing. It is perfect for both a Creative Writing class and an English Language Arts class as a lead-in or a follow-up to a unit on Horror and Suspense.
