Give students a blank structure for comparing either two or three topics. The Venn templates come in lined and unlined versions, supporting discrete written points or more open annotations. Choose the number of circles to match the comparison, then model where a detail belongs when it is shared by all topics, shared by some or unique to one.
Students fill in blank graphic organizer templates to plan writing: character/setting/plot maps, sequence-of-events organizers ('what happened/how/how did it end'), fact-listing organizers, plot-analysis (first/second/third and problem/solution) organizers, and a character-analysis organizer.
This organizer is supplied in matching five-page Word and PDF files. Two family-tree graphic organizer layouts, one covering an immediate family and one an extended family out to second cousins and great-aunts and uncles, are provided as editable Google Slides text boxes for students to fill in with family members' names. Each layout comes in a white-background version with colored tree artwork and a green-background version, giving four total design options, and the file includes a link for making a personal copy of the slideshow before editing. Instructions note that students with access to a camera can insert a photo of themselves into the page, and the completed organizer can be shared digitally or printed on standard 8.5 x 11 paper. Choose one topic from a set of idea cards (e.g. being a 4th grader, a favorite sport, packing lunch), plan the piece using a graphic organizer with an introduction, three facts, and a conclusion, then publish the final piece on lined template pages.
