Animal Classification | Vertebrates & Invertebrates
Science, Life Sciences, Insects, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science, Grade 5, 6, 7, Teacher Tools, Graphic Organizers
This resource was designed as an introductory lesson for any animal unit. Understanding the similarities and differences between different types of animals will allow students to classify animals as they study them. Included: Color and black & white version Vertebrates and invertebrates diagram Animal classification chart, can be used as a content review tool or taken for a grade. Answer key Animals, the diverse living organisms that inhabit our planet, can be broadly categorized into two main groups: vertebrates and invertebrates. This classification is primarily based on the presence or absence of a backbone or spinal column. Vertebrates possess a well-developed internal skeleton made of bone or cartilage, while invertebrates lack a backbone and often have an exoskeleton or no skeletal structure at all. Let's delve deeper into these two groups and explore their characteristics. This animal classification into vertebrates and invertebrates provides a broad framework for understanding the vast diversity of animals on Earth. Vertebrates, with their well-developed backbone and complex nervous systems, represent a smaller but highly diverse group. In contrast, invertebrates, lacking a backbone, dominate the animal kingdom in terms of species richness and ecological adaptations. Both groups play crucial roles in maintaining the balance of ecosystems and offer fascinating insights into the wonders of the animal world. Examples: Invertebrates include insects (such as ants, bees, and butterflies), arachnids (such as spiders and scorpions), mollusks (such as snails and octopuses), annelids (such as earthworms and leeches), echinoderms (such as starfish and sea urchins), and many others. It is important to note that the division between vertebrates and invertebrates is not the only way to classify animals. There are further subdivisions and classifications within each group based on various factors, such as body symmetry, habitat, reproductive strategies, and evolutionary relationships.

LBJ's Great Society: Graphic Organizer
Social Studies, History, History: USA, Grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Teacher Tools, Graphic Organizers
The Great Society program was a set of domestic policies and initiatives introduced by President Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s. It aimed to address various social issues and create a more equitable society in the United States. The Great Society encompassed a wide range of programs and legislation focused on areas such as civil rights, poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and urban renewal. The Great Society program had a significant impact on American society, particularly in terms of civil rights, poverty reduction, and access to education and healthcare. However, its implementation faced challenges, and its long-term effects have been the subject of ongoing debate and evaluation. Teacher-prepared notes show students what is important and how ideas relate, and offer a model for how students should take notes themselves (Marzano et al., 2001). These notes begin by giving students an overview into the events that led to LBJ's presidency. The notes then broadly categorize the two major goals of The Great Society and provide four legislative achievements for each one. This graphic organizer will work great as an introduction to the Great Society! Comes with a student fill-in-the-blanks sheet. Ready to use! Thumbnail clipart credit: By PrincePadania

Ronald Reagan and the Conservative Tide of the 1980s - Graphic Organizer
Social Studies, Economics, History, History: USA, Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, Teacher Tools, Graphic Organizers
"The conservative tide" is a term used to describe the increase in conservative political and social ideologies and policies that have been seen in many countries in recent years. The conservative tide can be seen as a reaction to the liberal or progressive movements that have made gains in areas such as civil rights, social justice, and environmental protection. The conservative tide has been evident in many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Some examples of the conservative policies that have been implemented include tax cuts for the wealthy, reductions in public services, and a push towards more traditional values and social norms. The conservative tide has been fueled by various factors, such as economic insecurity, cultural anxiety, and a desire for a return to what some see as "traditional" values. Conservative politicians have been successful in mobilizing support by tapping into these concerns and promising to address them through policies that emphasize personal responsibility and free market solutions. However, the conservative tide has also been met with resistance from those who see it as a threat to progress and social justice. The tension between these opposing forces has become a defining feature of modern politics, with debates over issues such as immigration, climate change, and social inequality often at the center of the discourse. Teacher-prepared notes show students what is important and how ideas relate, and offer a model for how students should take notes themselves (Marzano et al., 2001). These notes begin by looking at the four major goals of the conservative movement during the 1980s. Then, this graphic organizer looks at the causes and effects of the conservative tide that occurred during the 1980s. Comes with a student fill-in-the-blanks sheet. Ready to use! If you are looking for impactful resources for your reading students to complete, I have just the resource for you. If your students are studying short stories or getting ready to write their own short story, this is a Short Story Graphic Organizer that will benefit them. This resource is great for upper elementary and middle school students. The objective is for students to correctly complete a graphic organizer with all the necessary details. If you want to assess student’s ability to identify these things within a story they are reading, this is a great way. another great way to implement this chart is to guide student writing if they have been tasked with writing their own short story. By using this chart, students are more likely to create an organized and compelling piece of written work. Students will start on the left side of the triangle and work their way up the line with 3 separate events meant to detail the rising action. By the time students reach the tip of the triangle, they will determine what they want their climax, or dramatic turning point to be. Students will write two separate events as they climb down the right side of the triangle for their falling action. They will finish with their resolution. This can be an independent task for students but you may also choose to have students put their brains together to complete a small group short story. I hope you enjoy!
