Thanksgiving Math & Literacy
Math, Numbers, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Thanksgiving Math & Literacy The Thanksgiving Math & Literacy resource combines key educational elements into a singular, engrossing activity for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and students in Grades 1 and 2. This unique resource ties together basic math fundamentals with essential language arts components all on one worksheet. Predominantly focusing on extrapolating addition and subtraction skills, this activity presents students with mathematical problems that decode pieces of scrambled sentences. Each solved problem actively encourages numeracy abilities and develops an understanding of sentence structures. Literacy competencies: The sentences within this Thanksgiving-themed product employ sight words to enhance vocabulary precision from a list enclosing 27 sight words such as 'the', 'is', 'far', 'away', etc., all commonly used in early-age reading exercises. Enhancing reading skills: As children solve each problem accurately while studying the contextual fitment of each sentence part within an encompassing statement, it motivates them to become active learners. Transcribing completed lines : After successfully organizing scrambled sentences into meaningful statements based on solved math exercises, every learner inscribes these onto writing boxes presented specifically for this purpose. This multifaceted initiative promotes cognitive connections across disciplines – from numeracy enrichment colliding with literacy attentiveness suitable for whole group classroom sessions encouraging collaborative learning spirit or smaller focus groups emboldening peer-to-peer assistance; or even just at home under parental supervision reinforcing discussed concepts while homeschooling or setting homework assignments around it. The product comes as a convenient PDF file made out of five printable pages ready-for-use anytime anywhere. It integrates seamlessly with diverse teaching methodologies offering flexible usability by educators everywhere. Nurturing joy in learning: what makes this education resource different is the innate engaging design of Thanksgiving Math & Literacy, making classroom learning an enjoyable experience. The intellectual pursuit bundled as a special occasion celebration deepens the learners' understanding and appreciation of shared historical symbols and truimphs through a perfect blend of Maths and Language arts.

Breaking the Big Words Activity Book | Volume 1, Set 2

Breaking the Big Words Activity Book | Volume 1, Set 2
ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Workbooks, Worksheets & Printables

Breaking the Big Words Activity Book | Volume 1, Set 2 Mastering syllable division helps young students become confident decoders and readers. This phonics resource from Jillian Star teaches VC/CV open syllable patterns in two- and three-syllable words. With visual supports, students divide words into syllables, insert slashes between syllables, and practice breaking words while reading sentences. As students progress, supports are removed to build independence. Differentiation ideas help teachers scaffold for individual needs. This set builds confidence by introducing more complex syllable patterns only after mastery of simpler ones. Teachers can further generalize the strategies by having students break words while reading decodable texts. With a systematic scope and sequence, this resource helps primary students truly master foundational phonics skills. Jillian can be contacted at jmorgantchr@gmail.com with any questions about implementing this set of worksheets into small group, whole class, or individual instruction.
