Musical Sight-Reading | Number 1 Bassoon Interactive Activities Engaging, informative and factual, the Musical Sight-Reading | Number 1 Bassoon Interactive Activities is a teaching resource that educators of Grade 1 through to Grade 3 will appreciate in helping their students acquire quick instrumental reading skills. Developed with the focus of simplifying sight-reading practices for beginner instrumentalists, this module breaks down simple sight-reading exercises into comprehensible components. The components include rhythms, beat and notation which are then combined with pulse and a backing track. It offers learners a robust foundation of music theory while enhancing their rhythmic cognition across multiple instruments. Please note that these interactive exercises have been crafted specifically for the Treble Clef notation system. The rhythmic backing track it utilizes does not contain harmony making it adaptably useful for other instruments besides bassoon. This interactive activity set is perfect for whole group lessons where student interaction fosters development of overall musical knowledge alongside sight reading skills. It can also be used in small group settings or as homework assignments where individualized attention on each learner's progress boosts mastery at personal pace levels. Technical aspects: The resource contains links leading to download options for both computer files & tablet files – instructions on obtaining these are detailed within the resource itself. The computer files need unzipping initially but once done, students simply select ‘LAUNCH STORY’ to jumpstart their journey! The tablet link can be utilized by Mac users on computers but unfortunately they cannot download the computer zip files for offline usage at this time. In conclusion, with this innovative teaching tool, educators equip themselves better to make sight reading a more alluring, productive and successful learning experience for their students. SEL Boom Deck-Grateful or Disappointed? With Audio Plus Handout!

SEL Boom Deck-Grateful or Disappointed? With Audio Plus Handout!
Special Resources, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Social Skills, Special Education Needs (SEN), Elementary, Middle School, Activities, Worksheets & Printables

In this resource, students will learn the differences between feeling grateful and disappointed. These two feelings are essentially opposite one another. The 28 slide Boom Deck has 3 educational/introduction cards and 25 task playing cards. There is audio on each card so no reading is required. This can be done as a whole class group whereas each student can take a turn coming up to a interactive board and deciding which situation is being presented. Then the directions for the deck ask students to think of things the person in the situation could be grateful for in a disappointing situation. There are many examples of disappointing situations such as; not being able to play a volleyball game because a coach is out of town, not being able to have outdoor recess, a volcano not erupting, having to do homework instead of play with friends, a dog ruining a pair of shoes, a teacher asking a student to rewrite a paragraph, a special art class is being canceled, and not getting to go on a roller coaster at an amusement park, among others. There is a handout to print off for each student and have them reflect on a time they were disappointed and now looking back, what were they grateful for in that situation. This is a great Boom Deck to do during Thanksgiving but also throughout the entire year. This is great for grades two, three, four, five, and six. This will create some good conversations with students on looking for those grateful moments. Please review the Boom Deck terms of use and the ability to get a free trial. The explanation is on their website and I cannot insert it here due to the AI system recognizing it as duplicate information. Clip It and Flip It - Counting to Twenty with Base Ten Blocks

Clip It and Flip It - Counting to Twenty with Base Ten Blocks
Math, Early Math, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities

Working with 3D base ten blocks is invaluable. But when students test, sadly it is with paper and pencil or on a computer or tablet and students see 2D images of 3D objects. Working with these Flip it and Clip it Cards is a fun way to practice transferring knowledge of 3D images to a 2D image. It can be so tricky! This activity was designed for my Kindergarten class, but it has also been used successfully in Kindergarten, Second, and with Resource and SPED. When using this resource, students will count the unit blocks on the card and attach a clothespin or clip to their answer. After clipping, they flip the card to check the answer. Great for fine motor development. Use this activity in your math centers or small groups. Put the cards and some clips in task boxes or individual work baskets. This is also a good take home or early-finisher activity. EASY clean up. I teach my students to take all the cards and the clips out of the task box. As they clip, flip, and check their answer, they put the card back IN the box! They use the same clip over and over. Easy to make and use, Clip It and Flip It Counting to Twenty with Base Ten Blocks includes 37 task cards. Answers print on the back for self-checking independence. Extra large cards, 2 cards per pages, so students can easily see and count the blocks. Answer selection along bottom makes it easy for left handed or right handed students. Straight line cutting makes it easier to prep. Clip it and Flip it cards help develop/strengthen fine motor skills while working on counting, number recognition, and transferring knowledge of three dimensional shapes onto 2d images on paper. I print cards on heavy card stock, laminate for durability, and cut. I place all cards with 3 or 4 clothespins in a task box to add to my center selections. My students LOVE Clip and Flip cards! Teachers love the ease of use and so easy to swap out sets of cards to keep centers interesting and students engaged. One teacher even used them as an assessment tool - she had students in a small group at her table, and gave them each a few cards and transparent counters. She used a checklist for marking. You will download a PDF of 45 pages. Print pages 8 through 45 double-sided. If your printer does not allow double-sided printing, print odd pages first, then place them in the printer and print even pages.

Bunny Burrow | Rabbit Activity
Science, Life Sciences, Animals, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, Activities

A beautiful nature journaling set for children. Youngsters can combine pre-painted hand-illustrated characters (rabbits, hares, woodpeckers, and spring flowers) with the stunningly illustrated background scene. The scene has plenty of space for children to add their own drawings and writing to create wonderful journal pages to treasure. This set ideally lends itself to the study of animals in spring as well as life cycles, record observations in nature around you, or combine with study from books and objects. The sheet of illustrations makes ideal additions to spring displays. To create a tactile finished item I highly recommend printing onto high-quality paper, I like to use watercolor paper as this also allows the children to add their own paintings to the pages they create and means that every piece looks and feels like an original painting.

How to Carve a Pumpkin | Writing and Sequencing Activity
ELA, Writing, Grade 1, 2, 3, Activities

This fall-themed resource about jack-o-lanterns will engage young writers in learning how to explain a process using sequential “how-to” writing. The materials creatively break down the steps to transform a pumpkin into a festive lantern into a simple sequence designed to motivate emerging students. Various printable templates guide children to color, cut out, organize, and describe the methodology for carving the holiday symbols. The packet incorporates two leveled writing checklists appropriate for kindergarten through early elementary to reinforce core procedural writing skills. Vivid pictorial cards demonstrate pumpkin carving while corresponding vocabulary word cards allow for matching games or displays. A sample how-to paragraph models the format and an autumn-inspired sequencing word bank introduces key transition terms. Primary workbook-style templates encourage students to enumerate or depict the necessary carving tools, safety rules, pumpkin selection criteria, and step-by-step methodology for assembling the holiday decor. Extensions guide young writers to adapt unique carved pumpkin designs or to craft stories starring pumpkin characters. A final draft pumpkin template offers the possibility of actually demonstrating the carving process in class using faux pumpkins. With opportunities to strengthen fine motor skills, sequence events, practice transition words, apply controlled writing, and develop pumpkin-inspired narratives, students gain confidence applying core how-to writing techniques to a seasonal topic that fuels imagination. The cross-disciplinary focus marries science and literacy learning through hands-on engagement around the iconic fall tradition. This versatile resource allows flexible implementation ranging from whole group pumpkin carving demonstrations to individual student work. Both emerging and early writers will relish diving into the autumnal printables and activities built around transforming pumpkins into creative lanterns.
