They could also be asked to sort clothes based on a combination of these criteria, such as sorting long sleeve shirts that are also suitable for cold weather. The instructor could also provide feedback and additional information about the clothing items and their features, functions, and classes. By completing this activity , the learners will improve their critical thinking and analytical skills as they learn to categorize and classify objects based on different criteria. They will also develop their knowledge and understanding of clothing items and their unique features, functions, and classes. The pages are clear of visual distractions which helps the learner focus on the task. This activity is easy to create - laminate all cards, cut out the individual sorting cards and velcro to the corresponding activity mat. You can hole punch the mats and put them in a binder or use binder clips for many years of teaching and learning. Enjoy, IFIO girl

Design a City – Project-Based Learning Activity
Creative Arts, Art, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Crafts, Projects
Create a city with this packet. You and your students can jumpstart a "create a city" project. Tons of templates will help your class through the process of designing the layout of their very own city. Build paper roads, businesses, homes, parks, and more. This resource also includes some additional, optional learning experiences including discussing and completing a worksheet about how to select a mayor for your city , writing instructions for finding your way through a city, following rules about city infrastructure laid out in the challenge cards, and practice writing city ordinances. Your students are going to expand on this project and that’s the best part! This will jumpstart their creativity and challenge and motivate them to do more! This packet provides a starting place for your class- but let your imagination run wild! This project took over 3 hours for my students and they loved every minute of it! I get the same feedback from every teacher who has bought it- one of the best resources they ever used in their classroom, a memory maker, and so much fun! How To Use This: Look through all the options and print plenty for your students. Equip your students with scissors, glue, and coloring tools. It’s easiest to let them design and glue onto a posterboard but you could get more creative and cover a wall or hallway with butcher paper. This kit can just be a fun craft , a way to learn about cities, an intro to map-making, or a project to enhance any number of other lessons! Cat Emotions
Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities
Students can learn about basic feelings and emotions with these cat feelings and emotions cards and playdough activity. This cat activity will make a great pet theme for students who are learning about emotions and feelings that are common to them. What is Included: There are 12 different clover feelings and emotions cards for students to look at and view. There is also a playdough mat for students to build faces on to express those same feelings and emotions. How to Use: The students will choose which of the clover mats they would like to use to build their faces on. They will then choose a cat emotions card and attempt to recreate the feeling on their mat using playdough. When to Use: Fine Motor Center - This feelings and emotions activity can be used in a fine motor center by simply placing the cards, mats and playdough in the center . Students can work independently or with a partner to complete these cards. Morning Activity - These mats and cards can be placed inside a morning tub or basket for students to work on as classmates arrive to class. Quiet Activity - These mats and cards make a great quiet time activity for students who do not nap. Small Group Activity - Teachers can pull aside small groups of students to practice identifying different feelings and emotions. Skills Assessed: These mats allow students to explore different feelings and emotions with a fun pet theme. The added use of playdough adds a fine motor activity for students to build those hand muscles. The cat feelings and emotions cards are low prep. They just need to be printed and cut apart, lamination is optional for durability. The playdough mats are no prep. They should be laminated or placed in a page protector so the playdough does not stick to them.
