Students will Practice hands-on craft skills (cutting, folding, pasting, problem solving with the challenge of properly creating an envelope from the template). Practice handwriting and spelling, proper grammar (including use of capitalization for proper nouns, at the beginning of sentence, proper use of commas and periods). Practice proper addressing of an envelope in preparation of sending in the mail, which is an important life skill. Greeting cards are not age specific. If the student can't read or write, they can draw pictures inside their card and get help from peers and teachers.

Most people have heard of George Washington Carver. However, there are many other amazing Black Americans who have made incredible contributions and who deserve recognition. As a Registered Dietitian, this is why I chose to create this Black History Month project to recognize the Black Americans who have contributed to the food and nutrition industry. 12 Pioneers in Food Science and Technology are included in this Black History Month project. The activities pack is stuffed with fun activities. There are activities for all learning styles. Activities include: File number one (18 pages) includes: Biographical information with photos in pdf format as well as birth and death information, which can be shown to students in full screen like a slideshow. This file also includes multiple links to references for further, more in-depth research.
