I love to make printable greeting cards and bookmarks. Not only are they fun for kids to do but can be used to practice and build useful and important skills. For example, these cute Valentines Day cards with matching envelope template (5 x 7 finished size): Require students to cut out the cards and envelope template in order to create a finished card with a matching envelope. Cutting with scissors builds fine motor skills. When students fold the cards correctly as well as paste the envelope template correctly, they are developing (especially with the envelope template) problem solving skills in addition to the fine motor skills practice. Deciding who to give the card, writing out a greeting to the chosen person, and addressing the envelope will not only build social skills, but life skills that will always be needed throughout adulthood. Properly addressing the card and outside envelope will require proper capitalization and grammar and will develop handwriting skills as well. Students can work on their cards as a group. Teachers can create a special center for this project. Cards are blank on the inside so that students can decide what they want to say. They can also draw pictures if they are not reading or writing letters yet. The cards are not age specific. They can be created with pre-readers all the way up to adulthood. There are six (6) different foldable, 5 x 7-inch cards with the following sayings: All you need is Jesus Jesus loves you Be my valentine I love you Two of the cards contain a picture without a saying. One envelope template is included, which can be used with any 5 x 7 card besides the cards in the Valentines Day card pack. pdf downloadable file, each card is on a separate sheet of paper. Also included is a coloring sheet with a colored sheet students can use to match the colors or color their own way using their own chosen color scheme.

Most people have heard of George Washington Carver. However, there are many other amazing Black Americans who have made incredible contributions and who deserve recognition. As a Registered Dietitian, this is why I chose to create this Black History Month project to recognize the Black Americans who have contributed to the food and nutrition industry. 12 Pioneers in Food Science and Technology are included in this Black History Month project. The activities pack is stuffed with fun activities. There are activities for all learning styles. Activities include: File number one (18 pages) includes: Biographical information with photos in pdf format as well as birth and death information, which can be shown to students in full screen like a slideshow. This file also includes multiple links to references for further, more in-depth research. File number two (59 pages) includes: Clickable Table of Contents Goals and Objectives and Activities ideas with link to a YouTube video on how to make a lapbook Improvements to Food Supply Overcoming Obstacles Obstacles and Gender Compare and Contrast Lined Note card templates complete with pictures of each pioneer (4 to a page), to print, cut and fill out according to specific assignment. (Designed for those who prefer to write with words and/or those who need to work on writing skills. Various templates, including bookmark, flippable booklet, 4-petal books, cut and paste projects galore. Extra pictures of each pioneer, in appropriate sizes to fit in/on the templates.
