Chemical elements Christmas Ornaments – Printable Templates for December Science Lessons This printable resource includes black-and-white templates for all 118 elements of the periodic table. Each template shows the element’s name and symbol and can be printed for students to personalize. The activity is intended for the winter season, especially around December, when students are often busy but still benefit from focused, creative work. Students can decorate the element templates with color or drawings and, depending on the level, add simple facts or uses of the element. Some teachers use the finished pieces for a classroom display—on walls, windows, or doors. Others fold them into 3D shapes and hang them from the ceiling or around a subject-themed tree. Instructions for both 2D and foldable 3D formats are included, though the actual designs stay simple so that students can focus on content. No special materials are required beyond paper, scissors, and some colors. The templates work well with different age groups, from basic recognition in younger grades to research tasks for older students. Many classes use the templates as a seasonal wrap-up to a unit on atomic structure or chemical elements. It helps students to slow down while still staying connected to subject material. The repetitive visual exposure to symbols and element names supports retention, especially when students walk past the display each day. This activity is flexible enough to be used as a quiet individual task, a group effort, or part of a themed science week. Teachers can adapt the number of elements, the complexity of the task, and the way the results are shared. Included are 118 element cards, printing instructions, and some simple ideas for using the resource in class. It can be a nice way to connect content with classroom atmosphere during the last weeks of term. Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? SOCIAL SKILLS CENTERS AND LIFE SKILLS CENTERS Greeting cards are perfect for fun activities for holidays and everyday use and are great for teaching social skills. Also, practical skills such as practice with addressing envelopes. Mailing out a card to a loved one is not as common as it used to be and will most likely pleasantly surprise the recipient plus the student will feel good about themselves for completing such a thoughtful project. SOCIAL STUDIES You could also use this project for social skills centers and as a basis for teaching about the changes in the world historically in regard to how people communicate much less commonly through "snail mail." MATH ACTIVITY IDEAS Also, you can integrate math activities. For example, the cost of a postage stamp and how much it would cost to send out 10 cards to friends/families (how many stamps you need to purchase multiplied by the number of stamps you need to buy). Another idea for a math activity would be to estimate how much time you need when you mail a card out to a friend or relative through the post office and how it would vary depending on how far away the recipient is. pdf downloadable file

Chemistry Pennant Banner – 50 Main Group Elements to Print
STEM, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Basic Science, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Homeschool Templates, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Activities, Projects, Labs, Experiments, Classroom Decor, Door Decor, Bulletin Boards, Crafts, Centers, Banners
Printable Pennants: 50 Main Group Elements – Holiday Chemistry Decor (Christmas Theme) This is a printable banner I made for my chemistry classroom, mostly to bring a bit of colour and a seasonal touch in December while still keeping it content-related. It includes 50 of the main group elements from the periodic table, each one on a separate pennant with the name, symbol and atomic number. I hang them up across the whiteboard or on the classroom wall, and the nice thing is that the students walk past them all the time, so they kind of absorb the information without realising it. The look of the pennants is slightly Christmas-themed, nothing too much, just enough to feel like it fits the season. I’ve done it both ways – printing the coloured version myself and just hanging it up, or printing the black-and-white version and letting students decorate a pennant each. That version worked well with a lower energy group before the holidays, and they enjoyed adding small facts or drawings connected to their element. Some made it artistic, others just coloured it in, but it definitely helped with remembering. Depending on the class, I sometimes only use the first 20 elements, especially if we haven’t covered much of the table yet. But with older students, we’ve used all 50 and even turned it into a quick quiz – like who can find the halogens in the banner, or name something everyday that contains element 13. I usually print the pennants on slightly thicker paper so they hang nicely, and if I want to use them again next year, I laminate them. String or ribbon works well for hanging, and it only takes a few minutes to put it all together. It’s a small thing, but it brightens up the room and keeps the content in view. Everything’s included in the file – all the pennants and a short explanation. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Glitter Backgrounds – 12 Sparkling Designs for Worksheets, Slides, and Classroom Projects to Brighten Your Classroom Materials ✨ PNG + PDF + TIFF Over the years, I’ve found that even small visual changes can make a big difference when it comes to engaging students—especially with worksheets, bulletin boards, or presentations. That’s exactly why I created these glitter backgrounds. They add a little sparkle and visual interest without being too overwhelming or distracting. Sometimes it’s the background that helps set the mood for a lesson. In this set, you’ll find 12 glitter-style backgrounds, each in A4 format. I designed them using Procreate, and they’re available in three file types: PNG, PDF, and TIFF. That way, you can choose what works best for you—whether you're creating something for print or a digital format like Canva, PowerPoint, or Google Slides. What’s included: – 12 different glitter backgrounds (A4 size) – File formats: PNG (with transparency), PDF (ready to print), TIFF (high resolution) I’ve used these backgrounds in lots of different ways: as worksheet templates, as digital covers in GoodNotes, and even as backing pages for student booklets. Around the holidays, students love anything that sparkles—so I’ve used them for reflection prompts in December, festive games, or classroom posters. They’re also a nice way to elevate things like certificates, behavior charts, or project templates. The designs are colorful and textured, but still neutral enough to use across different subjects and age groups. A note on usage: You're welcome to use these backgrounds in your own classroom or in materials you create for your students. You can also use them in educational resources you plan to share or sell—just make sure your own content is clearly visible and that you credit my store or website when doing so. Wishing you lots of creative ideas and sparkly results! – Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? Decorative Writing Sheets for Secondary Students
Science, Seasons, Holiday & Seasonal, Summer, Spring, Common Core, Handwriting, Writing, ELA, Math, Homeschool Templates, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Projects, Classroom Decor, Bulletin Boards, Posters, Teacher Tools, Templates, Coloring Pages
Decorative Writing Sheets for Secondary Students Versatile ruled pages for writing, organizing, and personalizing classroom work – in a calm and appealing design 📝🌿 PNG + PDF These decorative worksheets were created with older students in mind. They combine a clean, thoughtful layout with subtle design elements that make them suitable for many classroom contexts – from creative writing to structured math problems. Each page features light, subject-neutral decorations and matching rulings. The rulings are clearly visible but not too dominant, and their colors are coordinated with the overall design. This small detail gives the pages a more polished, motivating look – without distracting from the actual task. What’s included: A selection of printable decorative writing sheets with lines All designs with age-appropriate, calm visuals Rulings in matched color tones for a cohesive appearance PDF format – great for print or digital notebooks (e.g. GoodNotes, Notability) PNG Format Ideas for classroom use: I’ve used these kinds of pages in various ways – for summaries, vocabulary practice, reflections, and even small-scale presentations. Some students appreciate having a “special” page to write on for final drafts or project titles. They’re also useful for open tasks: students might choose how to use the space, which supports creative thinking and independence. Because the sheets are not content-bound, they work well across subjects. Whether you’re teaching language arts, science, or social studies, you can adapt them to your lesson. I’ve even let students use them for personal notes or as covers for their portfolios. They also serve well during quieter phases, in tutoring settings, or as part of personalized learning folders. And for digital classrooms, students can fill them out using a stylus or keyboard. A simple, flexible resource – and a small visual upgrade that shows students their work matters.
