Do you want to teach your grade 5-8 middle school math students how to self assess their own mathematical understanding to help them prepare and study more effectively for upcoming math assessments? Here is the perfect template for you! This Grade 5-8 Math: Student Self-Assessment Tool works with ANY math unit or chapter in the intermediate grades and can be used over and over again all year to help your students practice the vital art of self assessment. How to Use: 1. Start this routine at the beginning of the year, near the end of your first math unit! 2. Go through the sample template with your students so they understand each part of it. 3. Then have your students fill in the template for their own learning in the current math unit to prepare for the upcoming test. 4. They start by filling in the unit name & chapter number. 5. You can provide the learning skills or outcomes that you have covered in the math unit, or you can ask your students to help figure them out. 6 Students then rate their knowledge from 1-5 on each skill or learning outcome. Remind students it is normal that they may be very good at some skills while needing more practice on others. 7. Next, students must come up with a simple personal plan to help practice a skill that needs more review. This will help them to take ownership of their own studying and preparation. 8. Finally, students will fill out 3 concepts or ideas that they have learned during the unit. 9. These self-assessments will make a great learning artifact for conferences and to send home with students at the end of the year to show their learning in math! What's Included: 3 Page PDF - Teacher Instructions - Student Self Assessment Template - Completed Sample Student Self Assessment

Project Template US States for MS Word

Project Template US States for MS Word
Social Studies, Government, History, History: USA, Geography, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Templates, Teacher Tools

This is a Microsoft Word template for group/project work about the states of the United States of America. Each page contains a title, a small outline flag and a map of that state. The maps have only state borders, no cities or other things. Students can use these pages as a starting point for their project work. This file is editable, so the teacher can give students these pages as Word documents, and students can then fill in the information with their own device. Or, these pages can be printed out and students can create their posters on paper. The value of this document is to provide pictures that are hard to draw so that the students can focus on the content . For that reason, this is suitable for many grade levels. The pictures are at the bottom of the page so that students who are not so familiar with technology can more easily fill in their text. You can of course move the pictures around, if you want to. The font that is used is Seymour One, a free Google font. If you want exactly the same look as in the preview pictures, it is advisable to download the same font, but it’s not necessary. The states are in alphabetical order. The flags are of black and white outline style for easy printing and coloring.

Instagram Summary and Post Activity Templates
ELA, Writing, Creative Writing, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Templates, Teacher Tools

Instagram Summary and Post Activity Templates The Instagram Summary and Post Activity Templates is an innovative teaching resource that combines the allure of social media to make learning an engaging process. By turning academic content into riveting social media posts, it offers a creative deviation from conventional classroom practices.. These templates enable educators to conduct a range of educational exercises across all subjects, be it a language art lesson or history seminar. This indicates its remarkable flexibility making it an essential tool for any avant-garde teacher. Impactful Instagram Post One intriguing activity enabled by these templates is the "Impactful instagram post" where students are encouraged to symbolically 'snap' significant portions of assigned readings or articles illustrating their understanding or interpretation. This activity stimulates comprehensive evaluation and underlines what students consider vital in their studies. Instagram Story Summary "Instagram Story Summary" is another activity where students develop succinct summaries using four 'snaps'. They create visual illustrations before adding summaries at the back along with supporting textual evidence explaining its relevance. Promoting analytical skills while fostering creativity in presenting data visually. Note: The design lacks specific direction enabling teachers to utilise them as they please; summarising articles, homework readings or even videos — truly adaptable to your unique teaching style! This encourages learners not only summarise but explain why chosen moments are important - great for perspective broadening. The package contains a PDF file that works perfectly with students from grade 6 through 12 but specifically dovetails with those focusing on creative writing under language arts. Digitally shareable via email or LMS makes this equally appropriate for group activities in traditional classroom settings as well as individual assignments for home-based learners. Prepare yourselves for refreshingly different lesson plans with The Instagram Summary and Post Activity Templates ; a fusion of social media with education that arouses curiosity and enhances comprehension.
