Managing Emotions | SEL Story + Activities

Managing Emotions | SEL Story + Activities
Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Special Resources, Social Skills, Life Skills, Classroom Management, Resources for Teachers, ELA, Literature, Reading, Writing, Grade 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables

Liam and the House of Five Feelings is a short story about a boy named Liam who "walks through" a house with five rooms: happy, sad, angry, scared and calm. After reading the story, students talk about what is happening to them, what they feel, and what might help them. The resource is designed for Grades 3–5 and can be used during morning meeting, class meeting or counseling. The pack includes the story about Liam for read-aloud or small-group reading, question pages for the text, a simple reading check, and pages where students create their own "feelings house" and write or draw what is inside it. There is also a creative task about a new “feeling room,”, several short school situations for role-play, a one week "feelings passport", and black and-white coloring pages that can be used during lessons or in a calm corner. Everything can be printed and used right away, with very little prep. You can use the pack in different ways. If it іs just one lesson, the teacher reads the story and occasionally asks simple questions such as, "Which room is Liam in right now"?After reading, you can choose a few pages to work with: the comprehension questions, the "My Feelings House" page or a coloring page. If you have more time, you can spread the resource over several days: each day you focus on one "feeling room", reread the part you need, and complete one or two tasks. The activities are easy to adapt: students who find writing difficult can do more drawing and oral answers, while those who are ready for more can do extra writing, short entries about their own feelings, or a calm group discussion.

Common Core Math Activities For Grade 7
Common Core, Math, Grade 7, Worksheets & Printables

In 7th Grade, the main focus should be on four key areas: understanding and applying proportional relationships, working with rational numbers, expressions, and linear equations, solving problems with scale drawings and geometric shapes, and making inferences about populations from samples. Students expand their knowledge of ratios and acquire comprehension of proportionality in order to solve single- and multi-step problems. Students gain a comprehensive grasp of numbers by identifying fractions, decimals (finite or repeating), and percents as various forms of rational numbers. Students continue their work with area from Grade 6, solving problems involving the area and circumference of a circle and surface area of three-dimensional objects. Students expand on their prior experience analyzing individual data distributions by comparing two data distributions and examining discrepancies between populations. Your students can practise their Grade 7 math with the 30 activities of this ebook. The Answer key is included in the end of the book.

Grade 6 English Grammar Error Correction Worksheets 20 Pages

Grade 6 English Grammar Error Correction Worksheets 20 Pages
ELA, Grade 6, Worksheets & Printables

My Grade 6 students used to hand in writing full of the same mistakes over and over — missing capitals, run-on sentences, words they'd spelled a dozen times before. That's honestly why I made this pack. These 20 worksheets give students short sentences to read and fix. The errors are the ones that actually show up in real student writing: capitalization slips, punctuation gaps, spelling mistakes, and sentences that just don't quite hang together. Nothing abstract — just the stuff they need to notice and fix. I've used these in so many different ways over the years: as a warm-up at the start of class, something to finish early with, a homework sheet, a quick review before a writing task. They work equally well for the whole class or for a student who needs a bit of extra practice without feeling singled out. No prep involved — just print and hand out. Students can work through them on their own or you can go over them together. Either way, the repetition builds good habits, and after a while you really do start seeing fewer of those familiar errors in their writing.
