In my house, finding ninth-grade resources that do not feel childish is an uphill battle. If a worksheet looks like it is from 1994, my daughter is done before she even picks up a pencil. That is why I created the High School The Scholar's Quest Mad Lib Mini Unit. I wanted something that leaned into that dark academia, immersive vibe that teens actually like, while still hitting the academic rigor they need. We have used this on those slow, rainy Tuesdays to turn a boring ELA lesson into a deep dive into atmosphere—without the usual groaning. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: The Scholar's Quest: Multi-page immersive narrative experience. 100+ Tier 2 Word: Sophisticated academic vocabulary banks. 10 Brainstorming Sheets: Narrative architecture and planning tools. Advanced Grammar Guide: Gerunds and participle phrase toolkits. TOPICS COVERED: Literary Tone Analysis: Mastering mood through word choice. Narrative Synthesis: High-level academic word integration. Advanced Parts of Speech: Gerunds, transitive verbs, and more. Pre-Writing Skills: Character blueprints and setting design. This High School The Scholar'sQuest Mad Lib Mini Unit transforms a standard English lesson into an experiment. They are nott just students/homeschoolers here; they are alchemists in charge of the results. Whether you are homeschooling or in a classroom, this High School The Scholar'sQuest Mad Lib Mini Unit resource honors their maturity while keeping things fresh. Happy crafting! If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resource, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom

Interactive Chemistry Quiz: GHS Symbols – Genially + PDF Version

Interactive Chemistry Quiz: GHS Symbols – Genially (+ PDF Version) Bring lab safety to life with this interactive quiz on the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) hazard symbols – perfect for middle and high school chemistry lessons. Whether you're starting the unit or wrapping up a safety review, this quiz adds variety, visual appeal, and a bit of fun to your lesson plan. You’ll get two versions of the quiz: – A PDF version that can be used digitally or printed (but it works not well) – A Genially link that leads to an animated, interactive version (includes sound – which can be muted) Both versions test students on the meanings of the various GHS symbols – from corrosive substances to environmental hazards. The quiz includes original clipart and my own glitter-animated GHS symbols to make the content more visually appealing without distracting from the important safety message. I usually use the Genially quiz for individual work in the computer lab or on tablets, so each student can go at their own pace. But it also works well as a station activity , a class-wide quiz , or even as homework , depending on your classroom setup. At the end of the PDF, you’ll find: A QR code to scan directly to the Genially A clickable link for browser access An iframe embed code , if you want to use it on your (non-commercial) learning platform Attention: The interactive PDF does not contain the full scope of the material. The quiz works. Unfortunately, the additional tasks do not. Using Genially is therefore recommended and much more motivating for the pupils. For the interactive quiz you need an internet connection and a terminal device. The quiz can be carried out with the whole class or as partner or individual work. I prefer individual work at each student's own pace. To get to the Genially link, either scan the QR code at the end of the document or click on the link button available there. You can also copy the iframe code and embed the Genially on a learning platform or other... The Genially can be used either at the beginning of the topic or as a backup. It is also worth using as a station in station work. The interactive version includes motivating sound effects , a self-paced structure , and a clear, age-appropriate design for grades 7–10. 📌 Important note : The Genially quiz is protected by copyright. It’s for your own classroom use only . Please don’t share the link or embed it outside a private, secure learning environment. Sharing with colleagues, online platforms, or social media is not permitted. I hope your students enjoy reviewing GHS symbols as much as mine do! – Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? Write multi-digit whole numbers in expanded form

Write multi-digit whole numbers in expanded form
Math, Numbers, Place Value, Grade 4, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Writing large numbers in expanded form is the process of breaking down numbers into their appropriate place value. It is useful for doing large sums without a calculator and helps students better understand the difference between thousands, hundredths, tens, and units. Finding the expanded form of a number means looking at each digit in the multi-digit number to see what place value that digit is in. For example, if the digit 5 is in the hundreds place, then in expanded form that digit would be written as 500. There are 4 Sets of Worksheets: -Expanding 3 digit-numbers -Expanding 4 digit-numbers -Expanding 5 digit-numbers -Expanding 6 digit-numbers -Each Set has two possible presentations : Numbers presented with each place value digit color coded and an example with a place value table at the top of the page. Numbers written out without the color coding and the example at the top of page without the place value table With the 4 Sets and 2 the presentations you have essentially 8 possible options to choose from and be able to differentiate from the very start. Format of large numbers For all of these resources you have a choice of 3 different number formats which will cover most educators' needs around the world. A comma separator - for the USA & UK e.g. 23,334,290 A space separator - Canada, Australia, plus many European countries e.g. 23 334 290 No separator - often used in scientific writings, page numbers, years & addresses e.g. 23334290 How many Worksheets are there ? Virtually unlimited. At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time which allows you to create as many new worksheets as you need for each of the 8 options for classwork, homework, extra practice or revision throughout the year or even give groups of pupils in your class different sets of questions. Answers found on the second page of every worksheet are automatically generated when you create a new worksheet . Note These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard.
