Spring Two Step Equation Maze March Activity
Math, Algebra, Grade 6, 7, 8, Activities, Centers, Games, Worksheets & Printables
This spring-themed maze is one of those activities students actually enjoy while practicing two-step equations. Instead of just solving problems on a worksheet, they move through a path by finding the correct answers, which keeps them focused much longer than usual. I created this to give middle school students extra practice with solving linear equations without it feeling repetitive. They’ll work with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as they go from one step to the next. The setup is simple. Students solve an equation, look for their answer, and follow the maze to the next problem. If they make a mistake, they usually notice it quickly because they end up stuck, which helps them self-correct. It works well for grades 6–9, especially for review lessons, early finishers, or even as a quick activity before a test. I’ve also used it in small groups and turned it into a timed challenge, which students tend to like. There are two versions included, so you can choose an easier or slightly more challenging option depending on your class. This makes it easier to use with mixed ability levels. Answer keys are included with the full solutions, so students can check their work or you can go over it together. The file is a printable PDF (9 pages), ready to use with no prep.

This hands-on game is an effective tool for phonics lessons and literacy centers . It focuses on phonetic sounds and letters in both upper and lower case. It's primarily designed as a fun letter recognition game that actively builds phonetic abilities among young learners. What's Inside? The product contains three sets of domino pieces (28 pieces per set). Each set includes one dedicated to lowercase letters, another for uppercase letters, and the third is a mix of both. The flexibility allows children to rearrange the dominos by matching various combinations of capital or small letters depending on their level or skills they are targeting. Ease of Preparation A significant highlight about this resource is its ease of preparation. Teachers can print out the domino pieces they wish from either lowercase or uppercase letter sets. For added durability (appreciated in lively classrooms), laminating them is recommended but not obligatory. Depending on class size, multiple copies can be made; it's typically advisable to make at least two copies per set. Beyond Private Play - Instructional Setups! Suits whole group instruction during phonic lessons; The material may also be beneficial as supplementary materials given as homework assignments; This makes it ideal for various teaching goals: Alphabet games help with upper- and lower-case recognition; Sound-letter associations improve through active engagement; The domino pieces can also be used as wall tiles supporting visual learning; Phonics Dominoes Activity Printable, available in PDF file type, ensures accessibility irrespective of your tech tool. This resource fosters literacy development in a fun, dynamic way that captivates young minds.
