This is a great activity for teaching students to take away and to recognize numbers of objects to 10. A black and white version is included so that students can create their own 10 little dinosaurs to sing about. This is also a great activity for teaching students to recognize shapes. To Prep: Print, cut, and laminate dinosaurs and instructions. I print all the dinosaurs so that I can change out the shapes or different numbers of dinosaurs. To Play: Set owls out in the middle of the carpet or place them on a whiteboard with magnets attached. (tune of 8 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed) 10 little dinos jumping on the bed, SHAPE fell off and bumped his head. Mama called the doctor (point to a student) and the doctor said, “No more dinos jumping on the bed!” (The student you pointed to will take away the shape that bumped his head).
